Maybe Hillary Won't Run After All?...

The houses were bought with a mortgage, where is the debt on that?

And what about the millions of legal fees they had to pay also?

Her statement was when they left the White House, Bill didnt do speeches yet and the house in DC wasnt purchased yet.

When they left the White House they were $12 million in debt.

Selective facts doesnt work on me.

That all you got?

When they left he had a  pension......duh.....and food stamps too?

Hillary did not have a US Pension.

$12 million in debt.

Pension Info

Presidential Pension Information
The retirement benefits received by former Presidents include a pension, Secret Service protection, and reimbursements for staff, travel, mail, and office expenses. The Presidential pension is not a fixed amount, rather it matches the current salary of Cabinet members (or Executive Level I personnel), which is $191,300/year as of March, 2008 (but see "Salary Info" section above for advice on how to track increases in this figure).

If you are interested in more information on presidential pensions, an excellent resource on former Presidents' retirement benefits is the Congressional Research Service PDF document called Former Presidents: Federal Pension and Retirement Benefits by Stephanie Smith [CRS Report for Congress 98-249 GOV].

$193,300 before taxes is not going to pay off $12 million in debt.

Don't let the  "selective facts" get in your way.....

Clinton’s claims have raised some eyebrows considering that she reportedly received an $8 million advance for her memoir “Living History” just before she left the White House and a 1999 tax return shows her husband made $416,039 in one of his last years as president. The Clintons also reportedly bought two homes, one in Washington, D.C., and one in Chappaqua, New York, according to Time.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Hillary Clinton's favorability ratings are on the decline, although a majority of those responding still say they have a favorable view of her for some reason.

So can you guess the one and only reason Hillary's favorables are declining? It's something very basic. It's not Benghazi. It's not Boko Haram. It's not the State Department misplacing $6 billion during her tenure. Those are all examples of her being a terrible Secretary of State, but they're not the reason her favorables are declining.

It is this: Because Hillary is raising her profile in preparation for her presidential campaign, people are seeing more of Hillary Clinton. That is a very bad thing for Hillary's favorability ratings, because when people actually see Hillary, they don't like what they see.

When people say they have a favorable impression of Hillary, what they really mean is that they like the idea of Hillary. They like the idea that a First Lady is strong, smart and confident in her own right, and had the ability to be an effective and successful U.S. senator and a cabinet member. They like the idea of a woman strong and capable enough to do all these things, and because the Hillary! brand is put forward as representing these things, people express positive feelings about it.

The problem is that the actual person who is Hillary Rodham Clinton is not these things at all. She is not smart. She is not capable. She does not do a good job at anything she does. She is not strong and independent, and only gets political opportunities because of who she is married to. She is also not honest. She also does not have any compelling ideas. She is also shrill. She is also mean and ruthless. She is also self-absorbed.

And when she gives interviews designed to promote a book that really offers nothing worth reading, she gets noticably irritated when she is asked questions designed to hold her accountable for her performance in the jobs she got because of who she is married to.

Does Hillary not get a senator's pension?

Sounds to me like the Clinton's were banking on their "celebrity status" after they got out of office. Typical libtard Democrat, living off of nonexistent money and IOU's.

No it does not, but selling book deals and making worthless speeches you're political buddies make sure your overpaid for do. After all the libtards have a socialist agenda to brand.

Bill Clinton has earned more than $100 million making speeches and Hillary more than $5 million.

I bet you could not pay her enough to shut up though...................

They get a pension if they served at least five years, and she served for 8.

From what I've seen, her pension would work out to ~$23,500 per year. That might pay the property tax bill and HOA dues on the Chappaqua cottage.

They could have had a gazillion in debt......anybody bother to look at whether they were paying on it?
They still could live quite comfortably on Bill's pension, her 8 million book gig living in someones house with some type open ended sale deal.

On paper they may have been in debt but not from a cash flow standpoint. None of their legal bills were being clooected, just sitting on a leger.

Bill and Hillary Clinton top list of richest ex-first families
Since leaving office, according to financial records and news reports, they have earned at least $155 million from speeches, salaries and book deals, easily outpacing the post-White House incomes of other former presidential families and distancing themselves from the time when Bill Clinton deducted $2 apiece for used underwear donated to an Arkansas charity.

What's more, through the kindness of friends and the successful and richly-funded Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation, they've received travel and other benefits. The Foundation itself has assets of $257 million and has spent $50 million on travel expenses.
