If I worked for a GOOD company that respected it's employees, and treated them fairly I wouldn't know how to respond..

So used to be Siegeled' [deleted by moderator]...

Dump both unions....

Ok...Lets "dump" them and get what...? AGW is all talk and no proven record..The guys who run it were not good stewards and you expect them to solve all the problems..? Once you vote them in, of course the company will be scared and give them anything they want..? Your dreaming...! The AGW won't even debate the issues with the IAM, so that tells me they just don't have the talent...ALL TALK..!

Several yrs ago, we HAD THE CHANCE to vote in the teamsters....

That was a pipedream....Just about as much as the Steelworkers-and look where it got the employees...

Food for thought.. ;)

It will be worked by Mainline Express employees...many of the same people that did it before...only now they will do it for $6 an hour less. The ultimate Slap in the Face.....bring back the flights after you have screwed the workers out of a decent wage. The IAM helped the small guy out again...give the Hub boys $13, and see how the IAM gets the boot in a hurry. I will never forget those MORONS that came to our station for the vote. They knew what CO Exp got paid, and still Shafted us with $13 an hour. They knew that we were going to get screwed, and that they would be fat and happy with their $19

 Its gonna happen here in CLE. I am not sure of the date but I thought I heard around Oct 27th.

Yes, It is October 27th for the CLE-CLT flight. ABE will lose the CLT flight on 9/7, but look for it to return by the end of the year.

Wings, I hope you're right that ABE will get the CLT mainline flight back. We took this flight 2 weeks ago, and while there were a few empty seats, there is no way that everyone would have fit into a CRJ or EMB. They probably would have needed two CRJ's.

I would imagine that the regional jet flight will be oversold quite often when it first begins in September, unless the reservation system knew far enough in advance to not sell more than 50 seats.

It is a shame what management is doing to you employees and the ABE passengers. They should be finding ways to increase demand rather than shrinking service to a level that will drive passengers to other airlines.

Before we flew out on the 6th, we noticed to Southeast Columbus/Las Vegas flight boarding at an adjacent gate. I was amazed at how many people boarded the flight.

I just hope that some day US will actually increase service at ABE. The employees and facilities make it a great airport.

Folks, you want to brush up on your fleet and customer service contracts. The new language allows a station to be expressed or MDA'd. That station can then operate two daily mainline flights, with the express agents working those flights, AND additional mainline flights 'seasonally'.

Those mainline flights, operating into former mainline stations, will be maintained by mainline mechs, flown by mainline crews, and ground handled by express agents.

The shape of things to come.

We are well aware of what the contract says....either way it stinks as we were sold down the river by our respective unions. Sure, it's fine with us to do the same work handling Mainlinre flights for $6 an hour less than the rest of the stations. Are we now less responsible and important than the others that get paid a decent wage to do the same job. Please remember that in most cases the smaller stations do much more to service the A/C than do the hubs...we load, pushback, clean, cater and deice. I guess a guy that sits in the bin for the entire flight is more valuable to the company....Get the picture???

Lavman

It was shameful how the IAM tried to push workers into voting for the contract.
The negotiating team brings back INDUSTRY LEADING CONCESSIONS, then compares Walmart and Home Depot wages and benefits from day one to what they have negotiated for topped out workers. We know what the IAM fought for. THE DUES.
The sooner we get rid of the IAM the better!
It is laughable the way the IAM sends out letters trying to convince the members what a good job they did in negotiations. Give me a break! When the union has to do that the union is in trouble.

GO ALLIED GROUND WORKERS

Why don't you put the blame on Dave and your coworkers, you and your coworkers ratified the contract, not your AGCs.

And the AGW is a farce, you cannot negotiate a new contract till 2008 and the AGW says they won't sign any confidentiality agreement, well if that is true, you will never get any financial data from the company as the SEC rules state you have to sign it before you can view it.

But once again, you will blindly follow fools like pruitt and nelson.

The BLAME goes to the LEADERSHIP. Everything rises and falls on leadership. Besides, unlike the IAM's yes men, both Pruitt and Nelson were against the INDUSTRY LEADING CONCESSIONS.

Go ALLIED GROUND WORKERS

The contract language guiding station expression was a sell-out all the way around.

1. The company plans to either chase off, or pay a lot less to, senior agents in the out stations. I think MDA will hit in a big way, and there will NOT be room in CLT or PHL for all of these agents to transfer into.

2. The union leadership sold this bill of goods, in collusion with the membership in the hub and focus cities. How? The hubs don't want a bunch of seniority flowing in from the CHS's and ABE's of the world. As the vast majority of votes reside in CLT, PHL and PIT, the MDA language sailed right thru.

MDA will be the hammer the company uses on agents, with the unions holding their coat.
