Anyone have any info about the F/A classes coming in May? I know the one class in April consisted of those that had passed until April, therefore they were senior to those that had already started at the beginning of April.

Anyone know how many people have accepted/passed this current round of letters?

When will the next letters go out?

Just 2 classes in May? How many in June?

I'm full of questions...anyone have any answers?

Thanks.

FlyonWall,

Certainly, PitBull or someone will have better info. But for what it's worth, LOA 91 allows RJ's (including Emb-170's) to be sold to affiliates & non-affiliates. I doubt that language was included by accident or whim. Presumably, if LOA 91 passes, some of the deliveries will be diverted elsewhere. My assumption is that the company is not getting very far ahead on filling classes, etc, pending the outcome on scope relief.

So if LOA 91 passes and US Airways happens to have another layoff of flight attendants in the future(which with the VF programs ending WILL HAPPEN)....there might not be any space for the more SR mainline F/A's to "soft land" because MAA will only be getting half the jets they were due. We would just be locked out on the unemployment line while more JR F/A's are at MAA. Wow....comforting isn't it?

USAirBoyA330,

I have no knowledge of the F/A "J4J" program except for what I read here, so won't comment on that. I just doubt that the company (and GECAS) would be so hot for the ability to sell off the W/O'ed, MAA, or the airplanes, if they didn't intend to use it.

On the pilot's side of J4J, LOA 91 does call for 50% furloughee staffing as long as the buyer is an affiliate.

Flyonwall,

First, could you get rid of that name, "Flyonwall", sorry but it just doesn't sit well with me for good reasons.

There will be two classes in May. May 3, was to have 18, but 5 changed their minds last minute, so there will be 13 that will graduate on May 9. Then another class of 18 to commence on May 16.

For June, there will be more classes, but don't know how many. There will be classes every month until the end of the year.

Where they are, I can't tell you. I know that on the week of April 19, the committee reported that management had gone through the first 700 on the INVOL list. So, they have 1,000 more to go on that list down once, and then they will go back up again for those who passed the first round, etc,.

Is there any word on MAA negotiations, from any union?

Seniority, pay, bennies?

The ability to move to/from mainline/MAA?

Or are we going to start operations and make up the rules as we go?

For AFA, the committee is still working out "flow through" to MAA and from MAA. And then language for Active f/as as well.

I don't know what other groups are doing.

Pitbull: I would like to know from a Union stand point, what is going on with Mainline right now???? I know for one and I know for others that we are sick and tired of what is going on.

I admire and congratulate all of those who are anxiously awaiting MAA. I wish you all the best. I know it will never be for me. I never signed on and gave all of these years to be digressed to MAA. I have done nothing but go backward with this company and my heart and soul is not in it anymore. I have sat around for 6 months now and watched my pay check dwindle to where it was when I started. Good luck to all, but I am trying to start anew. I have lost my heart in this industry and it makes me ill. I can honestly say at this point in time, that I am very sorry that I ever got involved. I have wasted all of this time for nothing. I could have gone many places and acheived alot more in my life. This company can and will make a fool out of anyone it can.

Amazing that you would only require 50% of the jobs if the affiliate flys the 70 and 90 seaters but if its at the WO's you boys want 100 percent of the seats and trying to get super seniority for your fourloughed pilots. It continues to amaze me at the arrogance of the mainline pilots.

Kt,

Not sure what you specifically mean? Have you checked the PIT e-line recently sent out? Mainline in PIT is about to shrink again if you have been keeping up with the local papers. In addition, a PIT e-line went out regarding the PIT Hub future decrease as well as Local 40 responding to Dave Siegel's resignation. Two separate pieces of correspondence just this week.

Regardless of your feelings for MAA being digressive, along and the information presented, it is the reason for the shrinkage, specifically of the mainline stations, which effects everyone on mainline. MAA is here and one of the biggest concessions given in Summer and Winter Restructuring agreements by the majority of mainline employees, who once again, voted it in.

Also, if you have been keeping abreast of Lakefield's hotline message and address to the employees (which is also posted on Aviation), I believe you know as much as all the AFA union reps combined.

AFA is to meet with mangment in CCY next week regarding the business plan and their expectation of our participation. That also went out on an MEC E-line and hotline messages to the membership.

Now if you are speaking to the restructuring agreements that we are all living with, that is something to take up with the membership majority who voted both proposals "FOR". Perhaps, if there is another vote, folks will remember how sick they are of what they're living with on mainline and vote their conscious, instead of fear. And just maybe, many more will decide to even exercise a vote.

I recognize and share your fraustration, which is no different than every single employee on this property. And anxiety is high for all. <_< No one has a crystal ball. The present theory is that Lakefield will endeavor to turn this airline around and change the present "management punitive culture".

We shall see.

I know I know. I've certainly been bombarded with PMs about my name on here, but here's how I'm thinking about it now. Sorry for the name. I'll be certain to clean up the stigma that goes along with it. Unlike Dave, I'm FOR the success of this company AND it's employees! :p
