Has anyone else been missing Local 514's LM-2 report that was due on the 29th of September?

Brother,

Rules and Laws are not for the UNION, at least not the TWU.

Actually since the Department of Labor is in town investigating the Officers Election, maybe we could have them check on that LM-2 Filing while here.

The investigation is very interesting. Makes me wonder if it had any bearing on a couple so-called "AMFA" guys or guys with an "AMFA past" actually becoming elected to the TWU election board. I would have bet my bottom dollar these guys would have lost their bids no matter how many people had voted for them. I find it remarkable that after coercing the membership into taking the worst concessions in history with not one single snapback provision, and after upper management made millions in pup bonuses that the membership was so thrilled with their performance that they reelected the very same e-board members.

I also find it interesting that after candidates had spent hundreds and maybe even thousands of dollars in an attempt to get elected the incumbants did not feel the need to even campaign for office. It's as if they knew the results before the election occurred. I hope that the investigators will compare how much the candidates spend versus how much the incumbants spent in their "campaigns" for reelection.

I would guess, taking a lesson from history here, in order to become elected as a 514 e-board member it pays to shove a $hitty contract up the members a$$es without ever apologizing for it, squawk up a storm about pup bonuses and stock dilution without ever doing anything about it, and then don't spend any money campaigning or visit any places around the base in order to pump hands with the membership, hear their concerns and ask for their support. This seems to be the winning strategy to becoming elected to e-board office in Tulsa at the 514.

I believe your experience has given you a very keen insight into certain governmental agency's that deal with labor. This was the response from the my correspondence with the DOL on Nov. 11.

" Form LM-2 must be filed within 90 days after the end of the labor organization's fiscal year (12-month reporting period). The law does not authorize the Department to grant an extension of time for filing reports. The penalties for delinquency are described in Section VI (Officer Responsibilities and Penalties) of the instructions."

Our district DOL branch office in Dallas is aware of Local 514's delinquency. I was told there would be a file started and an audit conducted if they did not receive the report soon. BTW, it's funny Jennifer has time to audit a handful of agency fee dues objectors and send out 7 day threat letters, but no time to keep the DOL and thousands of local union members informed of how their dues money is being spent. I guess the dues objectors are a bigger distraction than previously thought.
