Could not agree with you more. Whine, whine, whine. If they are so concerned with safety and on-time performance, why not work with AA to fix the problems? This is not about safety or on-time performance but only about the pilots paychecks. To say otherwise is to be dishonest.

Over the last 4 years, APA did the above at not a small expense in both dollars and political terms. What did AA do? They saw it as a weakness and redoubled their efforts at attacking the pilot group on issues that were symptoms of greater problems.

APA also attempted to work on safety with AA. What did AA do? Put their feet on the desk, said "Foxtrot Uniform" to APA then actually told everbody the Union was working together with them on safety issues. They also gave the AA Chief Pilot position (VP Flight) to someone with ZERO international pilot experience. Call APA Communications and ask them about the safety issues. You can do that or keep proving your complete ignorance with statements like the above.

How much money was squandered by the executive in charge of maintenance in the latest maintenance fiasco? 100 million dollars??
The FAA had no part in this fiasco? What other maintenance fiasco(s) is/are the current AA/AMR executives responsible for?

When do the Pulled up B777 comes online? Also AA wouldn't have paid the $545 Million Dollar early retirment of the debt late late year, if they had/have planned to go into Bankruptcy.

These airlines today work on a day to day operation here today gone tomorrow. They plan for the future but if the whole thing goes tits up no one cares. Then again maybe they are just making it look good for a buy out

It is not about safety or on time performance. It is only about their wallets. If there really was a safety issue APA could get FAA to move on it. Its about negotiations not safety. Its a charade.
