IF they can get funding this could add another problem with two hubs under attack. Any ideas on which airline they are rumored to be looking to buy?

From the article:
They hope to acquire an existing air carrier, which they declined to name, and use it as a base to create the Charlotte-based operation, which would initially have flights to six cities.

Hmmm.... I know, Bronner may have his buyer lined up to buy one of the WO's.

Oops! Could we be creating our own LCC competition?

PIT, CLT not great markets for new LCC carrier start up. There is not enough local boarding in CLT for success. CLT is one of the worst hubs for that reason. PIT worse.

Deltawatch, You're excatly right, CLT. does not have the Orginating traffic that is needed to support this kind of new entrant.. As you recall, this was tried in the late 90's by Valujet {Now Airtran}.. But hey, it's a free country...

What if a LCC made CLT a focus city and had some flow through traffic from points north and south? CLT is nearly mid-way between Florida and New England. Maybe they could fly the routes with efficient and confortable ERJ 170s and 190s?
