My guess is... it was in the neighborhood of 22.
Again, I'm guessing here but I doubt there will be any 800s for a while. An 800 requires an extra F/A if capacity exceeds 150 pax if I am correct and at this time, I'd doubt there is any need. Just my 2 cents....When are the -800s supposed to start rolling into ATL? just wondering.......
I agree. There is no need right now.Again, I'm guessing here but I doubt there will be any 800s for a while. An 800 requires an extra F/A if capacity exceeds 150 pax if I am correct and at this time, I'd doubt there is any need. Just my 2 cents....
Thank you for agreeing but I'm curious as to why you say, "There is no need right now"? Do you know something that I don't?I agree. There is no need right now.
Sorry if I was "Short" with you on that last reply. May I ask in what capacity of Aviation are you involved with? Spectator or Employee?I don't know. I was agreeing with your point.
woooohooooo, I think about 26 now... 87 B-717s out of 113 total aircraft. Don't know the delivery date of the next 37 but they keep coming and we scramble where to park them. My hunch is, another Line Mx Station will be opened within the next year and/or expansion at a current one. Just my thoughts and no reflection of the Company's intentions, which I know nothing of... h34r:Your guess is dead on. They operate 22 717-231s.
"-x31" was Boeings customer code for TWA.
FWIW, I'll throw out MHO. I doubt FL knows what they will do with these aircraft down the road, at this time. With taking on the 37-700 series and ordering more, it could mean the 17s will be un-leased or whatever the Financial wizzards do at the end of their leases. Also, I'm guessing Joe & Bob are also playing a waiting game to see if Boeing comes up with a new replacement for the 37 with 787 tech. We'll all have to wait a few years before seeing where this goes. I am curious though, as to how a 717 stacks up to a 190, regarding Fuel comsumption and all that happy crap. Honestly though, the 717's are fun to ride, climb out well and the Fresh Air is nice when sitting next to Mister Anti-Beano user. In closing, to bad NW didn't replace their 9's with the 717. It would have kept many a Career going and cut NW costs by 23- 24% on Fuel alone, besides the excellent completion factors..... around 99.5%. I will miss the people I met in Long Beach and I wish them luck.Sorry to see the Douglas philosophy end with this last 717 -- a great aircraft!
Didn't the Douglas aircraft remind you of the Tucker automobile?
Since AirTran basically has cornered the market on the 717s does anybody see this as a competitive advantage for the next 20 years?
