The only people on the property that will be left with anything close to a liveable wage and lifestyle will be the pilots. You outnumber them. Shut it down. What an incredible statement this will make. Michael Moore will want to interview you all. The Quorum has been sensed. Shut it down. DO NOT GO TO WORK TOMORROW.

Hey Mr. Pilot....the next time little Johnny is led by his proud papa into the cockpit and his proud papa says 'little johnny here wants to be pilot but I would be ashamed is little johnny wanted to be a flight attendant or a customer service agent' will you turn to him aand say 'study hard and you too can be a proud pilot' knowing every second that if little johnny does study hard he will take away your job someday. Johnny should not want to be a pilot. And you should not want to be a pilot for USAirways. Respects brothers.

Why the wage envy?? If you want to better yourself go back to college and start after you receive a degree. If you have a degree go out in the marketplace and get what you're worth. It'll be entry level and you'll have to work your way up but that's the choice. What good is shutting it down just to teach the pilots a lesson? I don't understand that mentality at all. If it's more than you can stand then leave or stay and deal with the fallout.
What good is it going to do to have Michael Moore interview anyone. By the time he's done you can count he'll piece together something that isn't even close to what the truth is. It's just his nature.

The importance of this message is for the pilots to insure YOU are never allowed in a cockpit, much less bringing Johnny up. Proud papa has a problem with self worth. Greeter.

The pilots don't set the wages for other employee groups nor manage the company . . . . as anyone with half a brain can see. They are also in the same boat as the other employees and getting the same screwing.

Oh, and BTW, being an airline pilot sucks. I try and discourage any young person thinking of aviation from not becoming anything other than a military pilot. The compensation is going to be getting poorer and poorer and the prestige factor long ago went into the toilet.

Dude, I am back in college. My nursing pre-reqs are out the way and I just sent in an application to the BSN program at University of San Francisco. When I am done in about 2 years ( I'm able to do this quickly because I already have a Baccalaureate) I will start entry-level (Staff 1) nursing at about 90K. You kinda missed my point. Everyone has so much ability. Why are the majority of people at U wasting it?

If you dont believe my wage quote, please do some research before you fire back. California Nursing Association literature is available online.

   DEMOCRAT vs. REPUBLICAN

A young woman was about to finish her last year of college.
Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a
very liberal Democrat and she was for the distribution of all
wealth. She felt deeply ashamed that her father was a rather
staunch Republican which she told him openly.

One day, she was challenging her father on his beliefs and his
opposition to higher taxes on the rich and more welfare
programs. In the middle of her heart-felt diatribe based upon
the lectures she had from her far left professors at school,
he stopped her and asked her point blank, "How are you doing
             in school?"

She answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 grade point
average. She let her father know that it was tough to
maintain. She said she had to study all the time, never had
time to go out and party like other people she knew. She
didn't even have time for a boyfriend and didn't really have
many college friends because of spending all of her time
studying. She said she was taking a more difficult curriculum
             than others in school.

Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend,
             Mary?"

She replied, "Mary is barely getting by." She continued, "All
she has is barely a 2.0 GPA," adding, "and all she takes are
easy classes and she never studies." But to explain further,
she continued emotionally, "But Mary is so popular on campus,
college for her is a blast. She goes to all the parties all
the time and very often doesn't even show up for classes
because she is too hung over."

Her father then asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the
Dean's office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your 4.0 GPA and
give it to your friend Mary who only has a 2.0 GPA?" He
continued, "That way, you will both have a 3.0 GPA and
certainly that would be a fair equal distribution of the grade
             points."

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion,
angrily fired back, "That wouldn't be fair! I worked really
hard for mine. I did without and Mary has done little or
nothing. She played while I worked really hard!"

The father slowly smiled and said, "Welcome to the Republican
             Party."

Little Mary's father also takes the Dean on junkets to Europe as a tax deduction. All the while pumping lobby dollars into the local Congressman's campaign to assure the worthless Dean will keep his cushy job at the predominantly middle class tax funded college. Maybe we will read about Mary's dad going to prison in the future for corruption and tax evasion. I doubt it though, he spread a lot of "soft" money around to individuals in the Jurisprudence branch of the local Federal prosecution. Not enough evidence, or "still under investigation" will be the endless mantra from the plump fat cats down at the brand new gold plated castle payed for by middle class tax dollars called the Federal Building.

Dude,
Someone is blowing smoke up you know where  .

According to the American Nurses Association, "the average staff nurse working in all settings earned $35,212. (Hospital staff nurses reported $36,618.) Administrators (6.2 percent) earned $45,071. Instructors (3.5 percent) earned $36,896. Supervisors (5 percent) earned $38,979. The average Clinical Nurse Specialist earns $41,226, Nurse Practitioners on average earn $43,636, Nurse Anesthetists: $76,053."

These are pretty typical, and you aren't going to start at 90K. My wife is a nurse and is in the management end of things now (been a nurse in Cal for over 22 years) and she make about what you see above. Glad to see you are moving on, but you don't need to sugar coat anything. You're going to have to work a whole lot harder and your not going to have a lot of time off. Enjoy the 4 12 hour shifts. They're like a really bad 4 day trip.

Ahhhh another democrat wanting something that isn't theirs. Forget personal responsibility, betterment or anything that has to do with standing up for yourself. Bring on the entitlements. The companies, or any company for that matter, responsibility to the employee is the pay you receive. Tomorrow is not guaranteed for anyone so if the marketplace changes either adapt or become obsolete. The thing about it is that it doesn't recognize party lines so all parties are affected equally.

Borescope, I said to research it before you fire back. I know this sounds scarily like US320, but, I stand by my statement. If you need specific sites regarding this I will provide them. San francisco is unique, in many ways and I am fortunate that I bought when I did. I have accumulated huge equity since my first purchase in 1993 so I am in a position to finance this change in career. I know many aren't.
Finally, where do you live that your wife is making that kind of money. She must not be CNA. My brothers wife has worked at the Kaiser Sacramento facillity for 18 months. She is staff II and is making nearly 70K. In fricking Sacramento. So doyou live in like Fresno. No wait, bad analogy. Fresno Kaiser Staff II=Kaiser Staff II. Oh, and BTW its 3 twelve hour shifts.
