Announced yesterday John Leonard, President and CEO of Piedmont Airlines, will retire at the end of THIS month.

Yes, it will be Keith Houk.

Instead of being a pointless waste of space at Allegheny, he will now be a pointless waste of space at Piedmont.

Just as well, since he echoed Stephen Wolf's comments a few years ago that the RJ is "just a fad' , he'll be happy to find himself at another in-house contract feeder that will never see that fad come to the property. Thanks US Airways (and ALPA).

Nobody knows for certain who will replace Leonard. It is highly probable that it will be Keith Houk. Once Piedmont's future is decided in the scheme of things, whether being sold or not, will determine Houk's long term position within the framework. My money says that he will end up running MDA after it's all said and done with. Stay tuned!

<_< I beleive that Houk wll be named CEO of the combinded ALG/PDT, the combined operation of about 600 flights is a little too big for no CEO. Once the new company is sold, very likely in my opinion, then Houk will move on to another position. Perhaps the "new" Embraer Division with Allegheny's old cert. ????? He still has freinds in CCY.

TBONE: Sorry, but you have no idea as much as anyone else here. It is not public knowledge as to who will replace Leonard. So If Keith Houk, himself, has told you, and I would highly doubt that- you have no clue. Just wait until the official word hits the street. There's no point in sensationalizing this issue.

Tbone,

Not that it's really important who the source was. I don't think it matters who the Captain at the helm of the Titanic was (nor who remembers). Just curious.
