I was saddened to hear earlier this week that Jim Smith, Buffalo Airway's Chief Pilot passed away earlier this week.
When I opened the main CAAviation page this morning it had a small picture of a Buffalo DC-4 fitted with the fire bombing tank. There's a good chance Jim was at the controls when the picture was taken. He has been quite a visible feature of Canada's northern aviation industry and will be missed by many.
Rest in Peace Jim.
