I didn't say that whatsoever.....A glider in the middle of the ocean most likely will land in the ocean, safely or not....AWAY from any immediate help as in NY Harbor..there will be no ferries within minutes reach.nycbusdriver said:
Oh, so you're saying that if power is lost over the ocean, the airplane doesn't glide? How does it know it's over the ocean?
And, before you even go there: There have been a few successful, survivable water landings of airliners. Sully is ismply the most well known because it happened in New York harbor under intense media scrutiny.
WorldTraveler said:I did the same thing on a 777 within the US last week. flew from just north of ATL to just over RDU in about 25 minutes. ATL-JFK was in less than 1.5 hours.
Maybe not, but you were thinking it, admit it.WorldTraveler said:you know the irony of your post is that I was happy to sit back and read what other people have to say but you like others can't just sit on the sidelines, so I jumped back in.Nowhere did I say that DL's 777s are any different or better than anyone else's. I just happened to be on one operating within the US that happened to be able to pick up a strong Jetstream.Nowhere did I say that other carriers or other aircraft didn't or couldn't do the same thing.

B.S. and you and everybody on here knows it.
You just could not wait to jump in at the chance to mention DL in yet another thread.
Just like to do on every thread in every airline forum.
Now had you mentioned something about DL's JFK-LHR flight(s) on that particular day and compare/contrast to the BA flight in the article, then your diatribe may have more palatable. But you couldn't even do that in your haste to type another DL rules the world diatribe.
and in your low self-esteem, you can't read something about someone else without thinking it is a putdown of your airline.B.S. and you and everybody on here knows it.

nowhere did I say that AA's aircraft weren't capable of doing the same thing or that DL's aircraft are superior - but that is exactly what a bunch of people here have come up with.
I suppose I will continue with my same strategy until you learn to refrain from your comments.
If you have to use the ignore feature of the board, plz do so, if you can't participate in the forum any other way.
then just ignore me.The path of least resistance would be to place you on ignore.
But it is still fun correcting your mistakes or calling you out for the outright lies you post.
