Yes the elected officials endorsed by the unions and voted in created this tax rate. Sucks when the unions objectives works against youRogallo said:37% tax rate. WTH?

This lump sum check, was it listed as a bonus on your check? And/or was it paid at the same time as your regular check? Bonus checks I know are taxed higher than regular checks and sometimes reaching 29-33%. If check was paid at same time as regular check than this will put you at a higher tax rate do to higher income bracket by receiving lump sum with regular pay check. It's a little beyond me why some are stating 37% tax, but, with that said, I have heard from few folks at work that sometimes bonus checks can indeed reach as high as 39%, which is why we are fighting for retro pay (individual check) rather than the bonus check being offered. Big differences in how they are taxed, therefore take home alot less than originally thought. The union suggesting a 25% tax rate is more in line with what a regular paycheck should be taxed at in our pay rages, but 37% seems way too high.1AA said:From the Q&A put out by the Association. They lied again or just don't know what they are talking about.
Q: Will the lump sum payment be taxed?
A: Yes. Federal law requires that the lump sum payment be taxed at supplemental rates, which is generally 25 percent.
I am glad someone gets it.jcw said:Yes the elected officials endorsed by the unions and voted in created this tax rate. Sucks when the unions objectives works against you
Ever expanding entitlements and ever expanding numbers of working age adults that refuse to work.AANOTOK said:I don't get how our Federal Government can be in debt with robbery like that.
The result of liberals pushing socialism and "income inequality". Little different when it hits you isn't it?lpbrian said:Now that we are all "wealthy", we have to pay our share of taxes.
I respectfully disagree with this statement La Li. In my humble opinion industrial unions have become corporations themselves and have set up CEO pay and benefits for their international presidents and these presidents choose a staff and reward them with executive type pay and golden parachutes. If they really were pushing a political agenda I would think they would not continue to give money to people who do not push this agenda. They automatically fund the dems and the dems for the most part ignore them. I would think that if they were serious they would start funding these guys' opponents in their primaries and get back at the people who took their money while not doing anything for them.La Li Lu Le Lo said:I am glad someone gets it.
UNIONs are not about representing YOU. They are about funneling dues money into political agendas.
This is what happens when you allow yourselves to be represented by a multiemployer UNION you have no control over.
Ever expanding entitlements and ever expanding numbers of working age adults that refuse to work.
Get it now?
