Looking good US. Interesting how PHL-TLV - now arguably the premier US international route, didn't get nearly (hardly any) of the hoopla that seasonal CLT-CDG received.

FROM PHL (07/01/2009)

700 Departing FRANKFURT 4:15 PM A20 AT GATE
758 Departing ATHENS, GREECE 4:15 PM A23 ON TIME

Wouldn't it make sense to wait till more than 2 TA flights had departed before claiming 100% on time? Also, what's up with the Brussels flight - "unknown?" Canceled already?

I had very little to do with the content of this list. It's copied from the Flight Status display at PHL and took all of about 2 minutes to prepare/post. You people should be a little more positive about your airline's accomplishments, rather than shooting the messenger.

"A little more positive" is one thing. Posting a list of flights showing "on time" when all but 2 are at least 1-1/2 hours from their scheduled departure time is something else. If the messenger is slanting the message, maybe it's time to "shoot the messenger".

So far, the 1st 4 on your list were on time (+/- a few minutes, or DOT on time). 754 was 15 late according to the web site and 714 wasn't showing a departure time yet.

All the TA flights have departed now, so here's a revised list.

FROM PHL (07/01/2009) per status page on website
Times are schedule first then actual

700 FRA 4:15 PM 4:18
758 ATH 4:15 PM 4:11
718 FCO 6:10 PM 6:05
710 ZRH 6:15 PM 6:12
754 CDG 6:15 PM 6:24*
725 LGW 6:20 PM 6:13
714 VCE 6:25 PM 6:29
740 MAD 6:30 PM 6:23
742 BCN 6:30 PM 7:53
798 AMS 6:35 PM 6:55
706 MUN 6:40 PM 7:04
768 GLA 6:45 PM 6:43
702 FRA 8:20 PM 8:17
738 LIS 8:25 PM 8:22
752 ARN 8:30 PM 8:24
788 OSL 8:35 PM 8:58
722 DUB 8:45 PM 8:48
750 BRU 8:55 PM 8:49
796 TLV 9:15 PM 9:15
728 LHR 10:40 PM 10:52

*Originally showed 6:30 on the web site.

3 of the 20 were late by DOT standards, from 15 to 83 minutes - 85% OT departures. If you count flight 754, which originally showed 15 late then later changed to 9 late, it's still 80% OT. A pretty good showing although 1 day does not a trend make. Let's hope it stays as good or better.

Can anybody post the actual out/off times for 7/1? Been hearing Philly was quite a mess today....

The list I posted was out per the slight status function of the website. One would think it'd be accurate, but there was that change in the CDG flight's out time - maybe that was an inaccurate ACARS out time or something that got corrected. I can't help you with the off times.

One of the worst nights in quite awhile, must have been 50 to 60 out there at one time with no movement several departure fixes out for some time must have been 20 planes go back to the gate, 3 medical emergencies. The east operation killed us again!!!

There would be no USAirways without "the East operation".... Take it as a necessary evil.
Sorry, I guess your not flight crew, an east operation is when we are landing and departing on runways 9R and 9L. PHL goes to hell when this happens and the weather is bad, gridlock all over.

When I arrive at the airport and see airplanes lined up by the international terminal taking off to the east I just want to turn around and go home. I know PHL is restricted for movement but there MUST be a better way. My goodness.

Just looked at the AirNav runway layout, looks like real cluster, are they still using a Land and hold short operation?
