What's new

Hows this for a stimulus?

Well at least we know one place is hiring...$8B for ACORN while missile defense slashed $1.4B

That article leaves out some important facts. While the missile defense budget is less the budgets for AEGIs ballisti missile defense, THAAD, and Patriot/MEADS is being increased.

To be quite honest I'm not going to loose to much sleep over North Korea. I would rather see the budget for UAV's increased like it has. Then maybe some remote outpost in Afghanistan will have a Predator or Reaper orbiting when some Taliban decide to take a pot shots.

That article is dated 2004???
Did you read it?

The program encountered many setbacks and was restructured six times, most recently in 2002. The latest timetable had specified beginning initial low-rate production in 2007, with the first Comanches to have been declared ready for combat in 2009 with full-rate production to have begun in 2010.

The C-17 program had all sorts of problems in its early years. Cost overruns, behind schedule, technical difficulties etc. Change the dates and the name of program and you could have described the C-17 with the above paragraph.

Oh I see, your point was that it was an article from 2004 and change the dates and the name and yada yada yada?

Well done chap. Makes no sense whatsoever.

What was your point then? That you chimed in before you read the article?

Two points, one was to point out that every administration ends and or cancels DOD programs. Second was to point out your own hypocrisy on the subject.

Trust me I read the article, that's why I posted it. I knew you were probably going to jump on that paragraph about the Comanche program having problems. My guess is you are trying to make excuses for the Bush Administration for killing the program.

So dapoes, do you still support their decision to kill the Comanche? If so how is it any different from the Obama Administrations decision to end procurement of the C-17 for the USAF?
