How many supervisors are needed to bird dog the mechanics

In PIT we were told that was the way American did it, it was never a US Airways program.
Nope. Never did it this way at my 25 years at american. Our new manager is Us Airways.

My station at LUS has doubled the number of supervisors since I started with the approval  to hire an additional 5 I have been told.  Pretty soon they will be requiring additional office space just for them......at the same time reducing the headcount of the mechanics on the shifts.....figuring our next break room will be a trailer in the corner somewhere...I'm old school LUS, when I started on the line we had one supervisor per concourse, one in the  hgr and one in the tower, and one Mgr on duty.  Totally out of control now....

Are they gearing up for something?

They are trying to divest themselves of money. Then they will divest you of more of your pay and benefits while whining they are losing money.

They are drying up the pool of supervisors available out there before the time comes to downsize. Then they can pick the yes master supervisors and get rid of the ones that can think for themselves. You have a better chance of getting who you want while they are under your employment rather than getting stuck with the ones you have that don't play well with your plans.
