How does Boyd feel about US Airways?

Airways was the result of a bunch of mergers and several years of horrible losses and reverses and layoffs, so this wasn't, from a morale standpoint, the Good Ship Lollipop. But in fairness to (CEO) Doug Parker, if he hadn't stepped in, a lot of those US Airways people would be out of jobs today."

Shows his level of expertise. Lakefield and the money boys saved the airline. Not Parker. But don't let facts stand in the way of an idea or assumption.

U survived TWO c-11's without Parker and the good ship America West. AWA had no money to buy anyone. Lakefield arranged the entire transaction using AWA because of the fiscal distress it was also in. The people who control the money understood that two weak sisters may just equal one strong one. What they didn't figure on was the incompetence Parker and his team brought to the party.

Now that the "easy" money has been earned Parker and his team will be replaced. When is the question. I give it 6 months or less.

Aw crap....here we go again. And just when I though you guys had finally come to accept reality. BAMN, right back to fantasy land!

Who, what, where, when, why and how makes no difference today. Just look around. Does it take Boyd for all of us see the situation at hand? Nobody is any further ahead than the other. It doesn't matter at this point. PLEASE don't debate something that cannot be change and will probably NEVER be totally agreed upon. That said the airline is a mess and our management though making baby steps ala extra chicken on a first class plate or better wine is in the toilet. WHO CARES! ! ! !

100% right, they know we saved them!!!

Boyd's point wasn't who saved who, it was that usair was a p.o.s, which it most certainly was for about the final 15 years.

I faithfully read Michael Boyd's Monday Morning Hot Flash and believe him to be one of the best airport/airline consultants available. I have attended many of his conferences. Tell's his clients what they need to know, not necessarily what they want to hear. However, if you've read his Monday Morning Hot Flash, he seldom has anything good to say about any airline. If he has chosen never to fly US Airways again because of a missed connection, with the amount of travel he must endure, I wonder how many other airlines he has in addition chosen never to fly again because of a missed connection.

Why would anyone who knows anything about the airline industry fly through CLT.

Isn't Boyd up to date enough to know what a hole it is?

Boyd flying through CLT discredits him as an airline expert.

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
Oh believe me...I say the serenity prayer quite often. It's pretty standard in this dump.

If US was a p.o.s for the last 15 years, this NEW management makes the OLD US look like freakin' Lufthansa. We are truly a P.O.S now.

My point isn't to re-engage the debate. The point is that Boyd is not the expert he makes himself out to be. Lakefield knows how it went down and what I stated is true. He stated it to me. But it is now irrelevant.

What is relevant is that this airline is indeed a P.O.S. and the flying public knows it. If Boyd didn't know it before he flew on LCC it proves my point of his lack of expertise. He knows numbers. Not airlines.

Now if someone (BOD) doesn't remove Parker and his jolly teenage airline management team LCC will not survive in its present form. That is not speculation. It is going to happen. Parker is in way over his head and unless someone who knows how to run an operation is hired LCC is in deep.

He tried to hire someone, too bad it was another teenager. Then to add insult to injury, he promotes another teenage bean counter to run the express operations. Can you spell unmitigated disaster brewing?
