It's called HOLLYWOOD! If you were the director of the show and had to take all the customer service contacts that occurred at the airline that carries the most domestic passengers in the country and condense them into a 30 minute show, which ones do you think you'd select to include? Of course, only the ones with real drama!

The exact same airline-passenger interactions go on at every airport in the country. For whatever reason, SWA agreed to let it's laundry be shown. But keep watching. You'll find that they do occasionally put in the postive "feel-good" stories that happen much more often but just don't generate ratings.

Its for sure Hollywood. The company loves it as they keep renewing, so it must be good for business.

I don't find we are rude, USUALLY. It shows more how the ops/gate agents don't take CRAP from stupid passengers. Some of the incidents I feel for the passengers, however a vast MAJORITY of the show is passengers being stupid and SWA not taking crap from them.

Also, if a camera followed you around all day and if you were even a fairly nice person they could clip out enough stuff to make you look mean or whatever they were trying to achieve.

I couldn't do their job. I'd be fired in an hour.

Are you upset that they're being "mean and rude" to the drunks, the a--holes, the retards, or to the drunken retard a--holes?
<_<

I agree.....Tix/Gate agents in my opinion are way under paid, no matter what airline they work for!!!

Hey, be nice. AWASkyPrincess had a valid observation. She wondered how the customer service agents could get away with what she saw. Truth is, what they show isn't always an exact replication of what actually happened. They don't show the folks in the bar for 4 hours before their flight. They don't mention the tongue-lashing that the passenger launched at the Agent just before the cameras started rolling.

Still, there are occasions where customer service isn't quite up to par. And, in that regard, showing on TV that the Agents are people with good and bad days might help a few people understand that they need to treat the employees with just as much respect as they'd like to receive. We can only hope!

(I'll join the ranks of those who would pass on being a gate agent. Kudos to those who not only perform the demanding job, but do it well!)

Remember the whole point of television is to sell soap. Taken out of context Mother Teresa could be shown as a real SOB. On Cops do they show you they guys or gals doing hours of paperwork? Of course not, that's not entertaining. The arrests are, and that's what you see.

Also, people working for TV hardly know the industry. For example, I was watching Fox news talking about Jet Fuel prices and they are showing stock footage of a guy dumping a lav.

They are piecing together entertaining bits of reality to make the show. Although realiatity is hardly what it is.

LOL! :D

TV producer to camera operator: Look over there! They have a hose hooked up the the airplane and that floppy door is open. That must be where the gas cap is. Quick, get a shot of that!

Sometimes I wonder if "blue water" is combustible?

Im not a nut job...I was just curious..the gate's and the tickets are down right mean and rude...I just was wondering how come they let this stuff get put on shows that all I would have been afraid that it would make the airline look bad..

See it's all in the editing......

Collen Barrett has confidence in her people no matter what the situation. Also, It's totally up to the employee if they want to be on camera or not.

I just got back from a luncheon where Colleen was the guest speaker. Someone asked about this program. She said that while she cringes when she watches it, the feedback they get is 96% positive...
