Just got a private message on how WN's PHL flights were doing today.

I will cut and paste it here and maybe my benefactor will be kind enough to update us a little later:

QUOTE
what would be nice to know is what the loads were like.

Bookings look pretty decent.....from what an outsider can determine by checking website availability. MDW-PHL this coming Fri shows the afternoon and evening flight completely sold out.

I expect PHL to do fine.

Ask and ye shall receive....I just copied this directly from my duplicate post on A.net. Looks like PHL is hopping.....already.

Here is what I was able to find by poking around in the flight attendant scheduling system. After the city pair and flight number, the first number is the passenger load, the second is the aircraft capacity.

PHL-MCO #1080... 128/137
MCO-PHL #985... 134/137
PHL-MDW #327... 120/137
MDW-PHL #877... 41/137
PHL-TPA #723... 120/137
TPA-PHL #1638... 127/137
PHL-PVD #1638... 137/137
LAS-PHL #422... 130/137
PHL-MDW #741... 119/137
PHL-MCO #1101... 131/137

This is just a quick snapshot of today's loads and I'm sure there are some lookie-loo non-revs and cheapo fare hunters in the mix but still not too shabby for the first day. I'll keep watching the flights as the day progresses and try to pass on an update.

did they lose power to their jetways and have to walk the pax across the ramp to the planes?

Here is a summary of Philadelphia's first day of scheduled service by the numbers. I will give you all the outbounds then all the inbounds. The info will include flight number/city pair/pax load/A/C capacity and then the out gate/off ground/on ground/in gate times where available.(all times are central) At the time of this post a couple of flights are airborne so some info is not available and 1 flight departed PHL and diverted to CLE due to WX in MDW and another PHL inbound is delayed on the gate in MDW. I pulled the numbers from the flight attendant crew sked system. Since this system determines what we are paid, I assume(hope) the numbers are correct. Enjoy!

1950-2115-in range to PVD. 1 hr 25 min taxi out Yikes!!

All in all...not too bad a day. Obviously WX had an impact later in the day but most flights arrived early. I will submit the inbound flight info as a separate post.

And all that dosen't take in effect the fact PHL had ground stops until at least 2200 PHL time due to t-storms. Isn't it fun. No place to run and no where to taxi.

Okay...here are the Inbound numbers:

Again the info is arranged as follows...flight number, city pair, pax on board, A/C capacity

off gate/off ground/on ground/in gate. All times are central

#879 MDW-PHL Delayed in MDW

#2075 PHX-PHL 112/137
1820-1834--enroute...50 min late out of PHX

Again, decent loads and when WX did not interfere flights were early. Note the short inbound taxi times in PHL.

Short taxi times inbound in PHL means long taxi times outbound. It's just a bad set-up for the airport. You either have to taxi across an active runway coming or going. It's not the best for the amount of traffic in PHL.

Remember, this weather is only May, wait until the real T-storm season starts and see how hight your taxi and gate hold time climb! Welcome to the City of Brother Love, please take 95South back to BWI.

Is it just me or does anyone think it unseemly that USAirways employees and/or fans would chortle with glee that Southwest took a few delays due to weather....that they would actually be ECSTATIC that there were some pretty nasty weather delays. Yes, they had an impact on WN's flights in the evening. HOWEVER, they also impaired USAirways' operation. But even more noteworthy, they HURT both airlines' passengers.

It's pretty bad when folks are willing to be happy about delays which hurt their ownselves and their customers just so their competitor feels a little pain.

I would remind USAirways' meteorological storm-wishers that although PHL might take it on the chin a little bit worse than some other places, the other stations where WN operates experience nasty weather from time to time.

TStrms in FL. When the lightening begins a lot of things on the ramp stop. Tornadoes in OKC, TUL, MCI, and LBB (Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore....we're not, the airport is in Missouri.) Folks said when WN first started expanding to BWI, MDW, CLE, DTW etc etc that they'd never be able to handle the snow.

Will bad weather and PHL operations annoy WN. Probably. Will it be aggravating enough for them to take their planes and put them someplace else. No.

Yes, that IS a bit odd.

Not as odd as your bizarre love for a friggin' CORPORATION though, that you spend countless hours here defending it from enemies both real and perceived.

WN is just an airline. It shouldn't be the center of your life!

Just as unseemly as some WN posters on the US board p+$$ing their pants with glee over the total demise of US. I guess both companies have some people that could use some tact lessons.
I personally dont want WN to have a bad PHL day cause its going to be h^!! for us in a big way when they do.
