But I was asking you for your solution Southwind...the article dell cited was blasting the health plan because if you had cancer and were uninsured, you'd have to wait 6 months to become insured. But within that article was a statement that a health insured turned you down for insurance....not for 6 months...forever. How does that make a 6 month wait become a bad thing?

Also...as has been mentioned before...older conservatives at teabag events have shouted "keep government out of healthcare...and keep your hands off my Medicare". Even with Dell's dad...while he had supplemental insurance - the GOVERNMENT paid 80- percent of the half million dollar operation. If that government "safety net" had not been there, do you think his dad would be raking leaves today?

Still if suddenly you find you have some type of aggressive cancer or other disease,six months could be a lifetime. Some solace though....House has a provision for immediate coverage.

I suppose major medical would kick in if there was no Medicare......most have lifetime limits around a million I think...depending.

Dell...that might be the case....If you dad wasn't 70 when he went to buy the insurance. All I am saying is that insurance companies MIGHT find a guy was 70 and had bypass surgery to be a bit of a "high risk", and the premium would prove to be exhorbitant.

Also, a tip for your dad...take the mower and mulch the leaves. You still get a good workout, and the leaves will decompose and act as a fertilizer for next spring.

1. Companys are not penalized for not providing healthcare
2. Individuals are not penalized for not purchasing healthcare
3. Said Government healthcare plan is financed solely by policy holders , NOT TAXPAYERS !
4. Allow Insurance companys to compete across state lines, just like the Feds want to do !
