The following is from Bobby Gless' testimony on July 14 2004.

Lawyer; Would it be fair to say that the TWU is an industrial union, do you know what that is?

Gless; I'm unsure.

Lawyer; Okay, maybe you'll learn about that at the Meany School.

Now is that scary or what? Of all the Presidents out there this is the guy Little picked. Here is a guy they are paying $120,000 a year who does not even know what an industrial union is!

I guess that's because he has only experienced working for a business/company union!

In the case of the TWU it probably helps not to know.

Here is another one:

Lawyer: Mr Gless, what is your education level?

Gless: I have an associates, I'm actually working towards my bachelor at the time.

Lawyer: Okay, maybe you can elaborate on that. Currently you have your associates degree?

Gless: Correct.

Lawyer: And where did you get your associates degree from?

Gless: Came out through Nassau Technology Post Season Farmingdale, Long Island.

Lawyer: Is there any particular speciality that you have a degree in?

Gless: Its just in General.

Lawyer: In General.

I must admit that Gless is the only person I know of that has an ASSociates in "General".

Or this:

Lawyer: So the International position that you have is a full-time position?

Gless: Correct

Lawyer: And it's a salaried position?

Gless: Correct

Lawyer: Did you have any conversations with Mr Little or any other International representative about your desire to become an International representative?

Gless: No

Funny but that is not what some of the Maint local Presidents said in July of 2003. They claimed that Gless lobbied for the job for months and was frequently flying his spouse down to Dallas apparently to assist with lobbying. Prior to informing Gless that I chose to run with the late Frank DeMarinis his wife had lobbied on Bobby's behalf for me to run with Bobby.

Or:

Gless: I oversee, I believe it's 11 locals

Lawyer: What aree the 11 locals that you have some responsiblity for? What Locals and what are there locations?

Gless: Okay, 562, which you already know where it is.

Lawyer: Don't assume that.

Gless: 562 which covers from Boston to Philadelphia; 561, which is primarily Miami; 565 which is primarily Dallas; 514, which is primarily Tulsa; 530 which is primarily Kansas City; 510, which is primarily Nashville; I'm going to get this one wrong, 529 which is D.C., I'm not sure if it is - - it is 529.

Lawyer: Answer to the best of your knowledge.

Gless: 564, which is L.A., I believe that's it. I may have missed one.

Well thats only eight. He missed three. And two of them he gave the wrong location. So basically out of 11 he got five of them wrong.

Gless also claimed 18 years with the company as an aircraft mechanic, however he only started with the company seventeen years ago and in maintenance 16 years ago. His actual time working full time on aircraft is less than 10. 1.5 years as International Rep, 3 years as President and three years as Section Chairman. Maybe his lack of detail and uncertainty with numbers is no big deal, but when you consider this, it should be;

Gless: I monitor insourcing and outsourcing, I assist the bases with ROs which is a requisition overhaul teams, I assist ASAP coordinators, which is our Aviation Safety Action Pasrtnership programs, I am part of the FAA liscence programs. Every duty of aircraft maintenance involved in American Airlines I oversee.

It's been along time since I was accused of being an Industrial Union Stooge.

No doubt you need to return to Labor Studies School.

Looks like NW is another perfect candidate for an International position!

Here is one that I think you will like:

Lawyer: Why dont you want an election? (between AMFA and the TWU)

Gless: An election at this time -- I mean an election is--is a chance where the TWU would lose.

Here's some more!

Lawyer: Right. And part of our democratic process is to have a choice of representative, correct?

Gless: Correct.

Lawyer: So shouldn't union representatives (members) have a right to choose who represents them?

Gless: I already answered yes.

Lawyer:
But yet you want to prevent this election from going forward, right, and part of it is out of your self interest, you're employed by the TWU and you dont want to lose your job?

Gless: Correct.

Previously ;

Lawyer; And why is that bad? (an election with the chance that the TWU would lose)

Gless: Because ------ (long hesitation)

Lawyer: You would be out of a job?

Gless: I'm a representative of the transport workers.

Lawyer: And you would be out of a job?

Gless: Yes, I would.

So when under sworn testimony the primary reason why Gless thinks that an AMFA election would be a bad thing is because "the TWU would lose" and he would lose his $120,000 a year job.

Actually, so far the amfa idiots have failed to muster enough support for an election, even when approaching the workforce during times of regression. This shows you the real sadness of amfa's efforts.
