Something to do with current negoiations?

Bombardier Aerospace (TSX:BBD.A - News; TSX:BBD.B - News) confirms that it has concluded an agreement with US Airways on a revised delivery schedule.

The agreement calls for 23 Bombardier(i) CRJ(i)200 aircraft to be converted to CRJ700 or CRJ900 Series aircraft. This will result in a revised total firm order model mix of 37 CRJ200 and 48 CRJ700/900. In addition, the schedule for delivery of the remaining aircraft has been extended from April 2005 to March 2006 to accommodate US Airways' current financial restructuring and re-fleeting plans.

Revised Delivery Schedule

The conversion from 50 seat RJs to 70 seat RJs is a positive step, in my opinion. 70 seat RJs are perfect for many point-to-point markets US should be operating in. Plus, they are classified as "commuter" aircraft for the purposes of flying in/out of DCA.

I agree. If we're going to get all these RJ's at least make them 70-seaters which have better unit costs (CASM) but very little extra trip costs. The only things I can complain about is that they are still getting some 50-seaters and the talk of possible 90-seaters sounds like they expect to get scope relief for that.

For sort of a flip side to this, how many Dash-8s have been retired year to date?

Have any been used to actually INCREASE frequency or even UPGRADE service from say a Beechcraft 1900?

Dude, it's U-ALPA we're talking about. Of course they're getting scope relief!

Any PSA pilots out there can tell me if the CRJ700 has weight restrictions or can you carry 70 + J/S?
