They called a Manchester field trip this AM at JFK. Management is telling the guys if you want to go on the field trip it will be 12 hours on 12 hours off.
WTF ! !
Of course there are a couple of idiots that said yes but 98 percent of the afternoon guys have turned it down they are now asking the night shift....
Plenty of money for the other workgroups none for us
F em

Guys seem to eat their own for a little OT....Everybody should have turned it down but maybe a few wanted the opportunity to be featured on the cover of the weekly rag with the company stating how hard the individuals worked and under such hardship...although refusing to negotiate a joint contract!!! We have many at our station who jump at a road trip to a station where once was staffed by inhouse mtc...funny thing is most are junior and will be the first to be let go kicking and screaming when the bumps begin....

So what happens on the 12 hours your off the clock? Are they splitting guys into two 12 hour groups? So you go back on the clock straight time and 4 OT. Are guys that stupid?

Was it going to be for an extended time, maybe running 12 on 12 off for a week or so, you would be getting per diem 24 hours a day, right? So everybody turns it down and the company hires a 3rd party to do it, yeah that makes sense.

Last time I checked that 24hrs per diem would not get you a good breakfast in the U.K.....
