Sorry_my_spacebar_isn't_working.Has_anybody_noticed_any_major_changes?

I_note_that:

The_Liberia_route_now_matches_up_timewise_and_it_obviously_goes_CLT-LIR-CLT.

LAS_goes_back_to_Airbus_service,total_5X757_2X321_1X320_3X319.

LGA-BUF_has_1_mainline_flight_return_and_LGA-MSY_gets_added_frequency.

DCA-DTW 4 daily mid-atlantic
DCA-IAH 3 daily mid-atlantic
DCA-DFW 3 daily mid-atlantic
DCA-ORD 4 daily mid-atlantic

PIT-ORD reduced from 6 daily flights to 3

CLT gains more departure banks. Last bank will now be 10:45-11:00pm.

PHL-MCO will have hourly service 7am-12noon

CLT-MYR seasonal reduction to 3 mainline and 1 RJ a day

Just some of the things I have noticed so far.

E170 flights from DCA to ATL, DFW, DTW, IAH, and ORD.

PHL-ATL no longer has any RJs or E170s, back to all 737s.

I looked for public news and could find none to post. There will be a considerable amount of point-to-point flying and focus cities get beefed up alot.

There should be a summary document out soon.

Unfortunately LGA & BOS will not see significant gains in the near-term. Late last summer LGA station management was briefed that the facility could increase its mainline flying from 42 to about 150 daily flights when the TP kicked off in February 2005.

With the bankruptcy filing and the loss of additional Large RJs, the company does not have the additional lift to re-allocate resources to provide all of the desired ASM growth.

The company elected to first focus on CLT, PHL, FLL, and DCA, and once the company emerges from bankruptcy, and can return to the capital markets, then you will apparently see BOS & LGA fully participate in the new business plan.

Regards,

USA320Pilot

I am not sure if it will put anyones mind at ease or not.....but in the Feb Schedule PIT is still showing 226 departures....as far as I have been able to count. 60 mainline and 166 express.

Just curious, to be sure, are the frequencies out of ORD numbered below 2000, or are they showing a different flight number (as would a US code share placed on UAEX E-170's)

Thanks...

Just got back from a well-deserved vacation to the Left coast.

Was looking at the Attache magazine and, Jesus, US's planned expansion for the Caribbean this summer makes the route map look like a spider web.

Anyhow, thanks to the CLT crews for the wonder trip through the Queen City. All flights on time, upgrades cleared, and all bags and passengers accounted for.

On a humorous, note we flew to SFO last Saturday. Had to be rebooked due to a problem with my outbound CLT flight running late. Was switched to UAL. Owing to the "walk up" nature of the ticketing, my 18-month old son got the SSSSSS stamp and the special security screening. Went to the TSA security line and the TSA agent assumed that the boarding card with the SSSSSS stamp was mine. I said "Nope," and pointed to my tot. The TSA agent laughed but proceeded with the screening of ITRADE Jr. nonetheless.

US Airways at Washington DCA in February

191 Departures
97 Mainline (up from 79 today)
94 Express (not sure which MDA is counted under, but the company has gotten special permission for the E170, but not larger, to be considered Express slots)

There will be only 3 turboprop Express flights, all operated by Colgan. I think Colgan may own those slots, not US, but don't quote me.

Anyway, here's the changes, copied from another website.

FLL

Change of plans with the FLL-PLS service. It was originally to be MidAtlantic service, but will now be a PSA CRJ. Apparently PSA was waiting on route authority for Turks and Caicos. MDA, since it it on the US Airways certificate, already has all of the international authorities that US does. All FLL flying is either mainline (no MDA) or PSA.

And more. Again I'm pasting this from somewhere else as it appears.

PHL
490 departures, up from 403 today and 460 in November. Not sure how much mainline or Express.

These are only major changes, they got a lot less specific.

PHL-IAD begins at 1x CRJ
PHL-ILM begins at 1x ERJ

PHL-ATL gets a huge upgrade, to 7x 733 from 1x 733 + 1x E70 + 4x CRJ
PHL-BNA loses mainline
PHL-BTV loses mainline
PHL-CHO goes all turboprop
PHL-CHS gets mainline
PHL-CRW gains a frequency, to 2x CRJ
PHL-DTW gets mainline
PHL-ELM goes all turboprop
PHL-HPN goes all turboprop
PHL-MCI gets mainline
PHL-MSP loses mainline
PHL-ORD loses two frequencies, to 4x 733 + 3x 734
PHL-SCE goes all turboprop
PHL-SDQ becomes Saturday-only from daily
PHL-SJO becomes Saturday-only from 4x-weekly
PHL-YYZ loses mainline

CLT

Still the biggest hub. 560 departures, from 496 today and 520 in November. Again they don't note how much mainline and how much express.

CLT-UVF begins as 1x 319 on Saturday-only

CLT-AVL goes all turboprop
CLT-CHO goes all turboprop
CLT-CMH becomes all mainline, at 1x 733 + 2x 734 + 1x 319 + 2x 320
CLT-CRW goes all turboprop
CLT-LEX goes all turboprop
CLT-MEM gets mainline
CLT-MKE gets mainline

CLT-SRQ becomes mainline, at 2x 733 + 1x 734
CLT-STT becomes 2x-daily from 8x-weekly
CLT-YUL loses nonstop service

As far as DCA is concerned . Mid Atlantic is counted as a mainline flight. Mainline Customer Service works it inside and at this time Mainline FS works it outside. They have had at least 2 open houses to try and hire Mid Atlantic FS but they can't find anyone in the area willing to work for less that express pays. They have even tried to get express people to switch over , but fortunately they are smart enough to see that they would lose all their seniority and pay if they did. The company is rightfully getting what they asked for . No one will work for what they want to pay , especially in a high cost area like DCA.
