I understand Thompson and Howard decided to take matters into their hands today (literally) they decided to gang up on John McDonald and hit him! What true Union officers, to hit a person with medical problems and the vice-president of our Local! These two Officers are stand up guys as they stood over John lying on the ground. Both of these individuals should be sent to their shops and an investigation done to see if there is sufficient evidence to have them removed from office. I understand the reason they had the disagreement was; Thompson wanted to go on a trip instead of prepping for a case to represent several members in arbitration. Are these the same two who were involved in some problems at the last executive board meetings?

Although I find that concept humorous, I think the beating or hitting of a Union Official is clearly grounds for serious investigation and accountability enforcement.

What kind of so-called "professionals" would commit such a childish act?

Assault is a serious violation of law, if not dealt with then more serious actions by Howard and Thompson could emerge later. It could be you that they attack next.

The actions of Howard and Thompson will not be tolerated and I can assure you that this will not be swept under the rug as Decision states. I did not witness this unfortunate event but I will do what I can to see that these men lose their positions as e-board members. If the investigation proves that termination is warranted than so be it!!



I would encourage you to be supportive of John McDonald. He is a fine, well-respected union leader and an asset to Local 514.

These guys are example of the representation we pay for? We are in worse shape than I thought.

When you receive your ballot do what's best for the membership. Don't be bullied or intimidated into voting for-well-embarrasing representation. If you are a TWU official or support them publically you can always lie about how you voted. Don't be scared into voting one way or the other with threats or distortions about the possibility of losing your job or outsourcing. Take away the fear factor and vote for the union that will protect the integrity of the craft regardless of short term variations. At all of AMFA's represented airlines the memberships benefits and wages remain intact. When times are better there will be no catching up.

Truth of the matter is, if fuel prices don't go down and the company doesn't start making a profit soon we are all in trouble no matter which union is here at AA.
