McCain, (remember... He was the alternative...) wants to better arm the rebels

Who aremthe regels?

Does he know?

Does anyone know?

At least some Indications are that at least some of the rebels are Al Quiada, or AQ supporters and sympathizers. Then there are the other "radical extremeist Islamists" amongst them.

Arm them?

Arm them better?

The US has never really been all that successful at deciding who to arm in that part of the world. Witness, The Shah, Saddam, Egypt, Libya...

Maybe it is better, and more effective, to "keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool", and take thought out reasoned action, behind the scenes if possible, than to go around kickin' ass n takin' names and prove beyond any doubt that you are a fool.

Think it has something to do with being a "World Leader" and not a "World Stand-By and Watcher"!

But , as I said before, when has the current POTUS ever been considered a leader, by the rest of the world..................if the shoe fits and all that !

How have our interventions over the past 30, 40 plus years worked out for us. Pretty easy to pop off and want to go in guns blazing when its not you on the front line getting shot at. Thpical conservative. Very quick to send others to their death. Never learn lesskns from history.... Iraq, Afghanistan, Nicaragua, Viet Nam, Korea.... lets go ahead and add one more bone head move to the list.

There was that picture of McCain with a wanted terrorist in the back ground. May be we can arm him. Im sure that would work out well and please the conservatives.

Sorry but there's more to being a world leader, than guns and bullets, how long before they revoke your Visa?

Take it the pic is from Anywhere, USA?

Mission Accomplished !

OK so you want the US to intervene in Syria. Who do you want us to back? Which rebels? The one that McCain hung out with in the picture?

You are just like all the other hawks out there. Full of talk but no plan. Nothing. You talk and talk but when asked for details you have nothing. So who do you want to support in Syria? How about the folks we backed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya .....? So what do you want to do?

I told you and others my plan. Stop b!tchin' and moanin' about the U.S. tapping into "OUR" own reserves, here at home and we won't have to worry about the Islamic population blowing themselves to smithereens !

So, Hugo... How are you going to force the multi-national oil companies to sell all of "our" (their) oil to "us"?

I'm kinda' thinkin' that this whole thing is a bit more complex than the ranting heads and talk radio genius' are lettin' on...

My opinion, the US should engage in foreign conflicts only to defend or advance what is clearly in our interest, only when we or our interests are actually threatened, only when a course of action is available that clearly defends and advances those interests and has a very high chance of success.

Sometimes, that will mean doing nothing. Even if it doesn't look tough, or satisfy the public's natural desire for "somebody" to "do something".

So you think just because we eliminate our dependency (not realistic but lets just pretend it is) do you not think we are not affected by the rest of the world who will still be dependent upon oil?

How about instead of playing one step ahead, play 10 steps. Had we started to look at way to reduce consumption back in the 70's after the first 'gas crisis' we might not be in the pickle we are in now.
