According to the web site, the final 2 A330-200's will have the suites installed "By November 2010".

Have either (or both) of the last 2 in the fleet been sent or scheduled for the refurb?

I ask this because the web site was far behind in updating progress and fleet count, so I'm not putting a lot of stock in what it tells us....

278 & 279 Are getting them done right now so I assume those are the last two.

Is this correct? This topic gets brought up on flyertalk, and recently it was posted there that 278 is a 333, and 279 was the first 332 and has been retrofitted already. Given this, are there 2 332's still flying with the old config or did they go in for the refurb?

Just got off 283 with old config from TLV, not pretty, 12 hours on those old seats, everyone was miserable!! Well, most were miserable people, but those seats made it worse! LOL

That is unusual since TLV, LHR and CDG are marketed as routes with the new Envoy suites (but not promised). If 2 others are in for maintenance, I guess that limits the options, but this is one route where the suites should be on every time.

The usairways.com website was recently updated to say that the last 2 330-200's will be complete by the end of Jan 2011. It previously said "by November 2010". Then a few of us commented on this in flyertalk, and I also emailed customer service about it when my flight in early Dec from MUC-PHL was on a 330-200 with the old seating. Our comments focused on the fact that US was advertising complete refurbishment of the 7 plane fleet "by November 2010". Probably not coincidentally, within a few days of those complaints, the web site was updated.

Anyway, it appears N281AY and N283AY are still flying revenue routes when I search ACARS and libhomeradar.org. Are there plans to get them in for refurb soon to make good on the <revised> completion date that's being advertised?

Delta/Northwest and Continental/United will have EVERY aircraft painted and reconfigured while US piddles around with a jingy jangy and piddly widebody fleet. It is typical and standard of those at the wheel of the SS America West ehhh I mean SS US Airways. Just like installing wifi on "other" fleet types. Really? You haven't figured out yet if you want to offer it? Honest to God we are such a joke sometimes. Hmmm maybe it's Debby just being overly critical again? Riiiiiiiiiiight. 🙄

281 is in Lake Charles for the seat mod right now and should be done in a couple of weeks. I imagine 283 won't be far behind after that.

Here comes Debbie Downer...... Look, we're talking US Airways here! ! ! This company moves at a snails pace while others like the "new" Delta or United will have their entire fleet painted, reconfigured and overall enhanced. ANY improvement is great but hells bells does it take forever to spruce up a janky jank widebody fleet. It's typical. 🙄

DL moved like gangbusters to paint the entire fleet, both the ex-NW planes and the pre-merger DL planes. Out of 661 planes, only 51 are left to be re-painted. Meanwhile, I'm convinced US will never finish painting ... the planes will be returned to lessors before US gets around to it.

That's because Delta really cares about its reputation, and understands how important it is to be perceived positively by the traveling public. The new US Airways either simply doesn't understand this or doesn't care. Which airline do most people think has more class?

For those interested, the progress report has been updated to show that 6 of 7 A332s now have the Envoy Suite. That leaves just one unlucky plane flying around in the old Envoy, though it should be complete within the next 2 weeks.

Someone said that the last one is in for maintenance and new seats, so they should have just said 100% done since the last one is not in service.
