Employment Contract

But, WHO determines what constitutes "cause"? The Company, of course. And signing a Union Card may just be enough "cause."

And who said they had to get rid of senior guys wholesale. Just prune off a few of the "Union troublemakers" in order to scare the rank and file back into line. Considering most JBLU pilots are furloughees who are grateful for any flying job, dropping the axe on a couple your "high profile" guys would do the trick.

Message sent, loud and clear.

And without a Union, what's the terminated pilot going to say? Nothing.

So, don't get defensive, JBLU pilots. As I said before it IS a brilliant strategy from the Management's viewpoint. Really, I admire the Needle and his cronies. He's got you right where he wants you.
Dude, get a life!

Are things really that bad at Alaska Airlines? For whatever reason, it seems that you enjoy posting derogatory comments over here on the JetBlue board. I have always viewed Alaska as a class act. I get the feeling however that you are not a happy camper. What gives?

Why are you guys so defensive?

I meant it when I said I admired the idea of a five year contract. From a managerial standpoint, it is really effective at keeping you in line.

Sign a Union card, then try to get your contract renewed.

Needleman has you just where he wants you. Its brilliant. Really.

Wait till nedelman has to lower their pay and bennies to maintain their status as a lowcost carrier.......

Not a word from JBLU employees or your out and no bargaining allowed, at least southwest is heavily unionized, they participat in the profits and operation of the airline.

It's easy now, lets see JBLU 1st quarter profits down 12% over last year 1st quarter, so the bigger they get the less they make....HMMMMM

Thew are not long for the market.....not a factor in 18months.....

It looks like wishful thinking on your part. Here's a tip...don't bet your hard earned pay on that half-baked prediction you've graced us all with. I immediately find suspect anyone can't even get the CEO's name right, while in the same sentence providing "managerial insight" about the impending demise of the aforementioned airline. You're out of your league on these boards and are probably better off flying airplanes...leave airline economics to the experts. 😛

You have an employment contract, guaranteing employment, right?

Does it also guarantee salary and benefits? If so I stand corrected....

If not then what is it in my post that would not be available to lower to maintain status as a Low Cost Carrier?????

Stand corrected. Yes, of course it guarantees salary and benefits. What did you think would be in a pilot contract?

Corrected I am.....

I was led to believe it was an employment contract ( thus the tread name)

I did not know it had a working agreement included.....

How is the working agreement adjusted, and when it is , do they adjust all at the same time?

Also just curious, will the E-190 drivers have a different working agreement, can they change over to the 320 later?

"They are not long for the market.....not a factor in 18months....."

Since this is what you said, what difference does it make? You just stay on the bus at U and enjoy the ride!
