Doug Parker interview on Charlie Rose 3/27

I beg to differ MCI, TWA was rotting fruit on a vine when AMR purchased it. Between the Crandall & Icahn deals and the host of other leeches that occupied the corner offices in STL, the IAM did well by the Ramp Service Clerk and Maintenance Groups they represented, getting 25% Senority at some stations.

AMR could have walked and we would be just wannabe airline retirees, like the poor bastards at PanAm. BTW, our entire system of government, business and labor is full of corruption, its called capitalism. It's one big circle jerk.

Just be happy you're retired like me and no longer feel like a turd fearing the next flush may be you.

Now back to the golf course.... :)
Barfbag---- Tell that to our Hostess! They were represented by the IAM also! If you retired out of STL, you did O.K., like myself. with 100%, ------ Tell me something. What happened to the money that was in your locals bank account when the TWU took over? And what about the locals realestate, paid for by your membership? Now, multiply that by the total number of locals throughout the system and you're talking Millions$$$!---- Think about it, the IAM is at least twice the size of the TWU, and all you can say is some ended up with 25%! Rumor has it that the IAM took an under the table payment from the TWU to back off!------- Now that's "if" you listen to rumors!

Hostess was the BCTGM and the IBT, not the IAM.

The IAM did not take a payoff, it went to arbitration, and yes the money goes back to the international if the local closes.

The IAM spent over $5 million just on the flight attendants who they didnt even represent anymore.

Lay blame on the TWU, they are the ones who pushed to screw TWA out of seniority.

Hey, whatever alphabet IAMTWUALFCIOAMFA you use, you're screwed in this business,

Over the last decade passenger air fares have dropped tremendously, while hundreds of thousands trade unions cards for pink slips.

These takeover artists (CEOs ) go on the PR circuit ( TV ) and sell you bull about how great the new and improved Kool-aid will taste. So keep drinking..

The gutted remains of this business are lined up like ducks and parked in the desert.

If the IAM is granted a release the AA unions should pledge to honor their picket lines should they actually get to strike, this is what we should have done in 2002.

Look again, fares have been on the rise. Analyists are expecting AA to earn close to $3 billion in 2014.

Look again, fares are dropping and will continue to drop.. Pressure will be on labor groups to continue giving for years to come. Whatever raise you may get in this latest DP merger will be short-lived. Save your money..

Thats adjusted for inflation and the graph shows that since 2009 fares have been rising, unlike our wages. The article also notes the distortion due to the rise in baggage fees which is not reflected in the graph.

Analysts , for what they are worth, project that AA will make $3 billion in profits next yeatr.

Keep dreaming, deregulation opened Pandora's box, the airlines give what the public demands and then the airlines use Labor as their personal whipping boy... Ouch.. hit me again..
