Last week or so there was a damaged flap of an Airbus in PIT. The so-called maintenance management wanted to send the flap back to Airbus to be repaired for a cost of over $28,000.
With some discussions with the mechanics it was sent to US Airways' own composite shop in CLT and repaired for a cost of only $8,000.
This company does decisions to send things out all the time versus letting its own people and resources fixing it and fixing at a lower cost.
If this company took the time to do business smart they would save millions.
