Isnt it self explanatory?Moveon said:Never mind the draft document in question. Check out what Delle is telling the newspapers about the debate. Delle's talking out of both sides of his mouth. In the Tulsa World he rejects Jim Little's debate proposal and in the Chicago Tribune he accepts the debate proposal. I guess in his old age Delle's a bit confused, maybe he can't remember what he said from one interview to the next.
Below are Delle's quotes from the newspapers:
The Tulsa World ran an article on 3/24 entitled: Insurgent union rejects debate plan. The Tulsa World article says:
A day after being challenged to debate airline industry issues by the incumbent mechanics union at American Airlines, an insurgent union has rejected -- for now -- a proposed debate, union executives said Tuesday.
O.V. Delle-Femine, national director of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association, said a series of debates proposed by the incumbent Transport Workers Union in April would be held too far in advance of union representational elections, which will not be held before June.
The Chicago Tribune also ran an article on 3/24 entitled: Air union pursues American mechanics. The Chicago Tribune article says:
Delle-Femine, saying he is confident that AMFA would prevail in an election, added that he would accept the Transport Workers' challenge to a series of debates.
Delle can't have it both ways. Either he's in the debate or out. Which one is it?
Delle a Union President..? Don't you mean a self appointed, un-elected dictator, and is most likely his own grandpa....!Bob Owens said:Isnt it self explanatory?Moveon said:Never mind the draft document in question. Delle will debate closer to the election.
AMFA has the upper hand, your survey prooved that. Why should Delle, a Union President, submit to Littles (Sonnys appointee) demands?
Why should he agree to a time, place and date that would limit membership participation and allow the TWU to stack the room full of TWU stewards and officers who are there on UB?
Would you like to see real contradictory statements from the TWU?
I see rocket science will never be your forte. You really need to befriend a mechanic who will take you to the AMFA/twu debate-info meeting. Your lack of knowledge of the AMFA is appalling. If your job involves blue water, you need not worry about the AMFA anyway. I think you'll find that any founder of any union was "self-appointed" and "un-elected". The difference is that Delle can be voted out at the convention or recalled at any time. I know the concept of maintaining your position through hard work and dedication may blow some of your minds, but it can and does work. At least TWO members are running against Delle at the convention. If he is doing a good job the members will VOTE to keep him in his position. It's call DEMOCRACY and ACCOUNTABILITY. I know we're not use to that with the twu. One of many reasons I want a change in representation. Quit drinking the blue water and maybe your head will clear up.High Speed Steel said:Delle a Union President..? Where bargaining means YOU GO....!
Your rhetoric is consistant of that with twu supporters who are not in our craft and class. Allied Ground Workers are organizing at AA so you don't have to be left with the twu after we leave.High Speed Steel said:Hey Bus dude, Are you suggesting that the debate is on April 21, 2004.....? Has Delle confirmed he will attend...? Are you making a conformation for Delle..? Please do tell...!
You suggest I seek out a Mechanic to take me to the debate. Can I go with you..?
You seem to very concerned with the capacity that I serve here as a TWU represented employee of American Airlines...!

Hey Bus dude, I really do look forward to having you hold my hand and offer me some of your " Kool-aid". But how do you expect me to react when I suddenly realize that you want me to give up my seniorty rights...? You know it could get real ugly.....! What is your Occupational Seniority date.....?Stop the Bus..I Want Off! said:Your rhetoric is consistant of that with twu supporters who are not in our craft and class. As far as the debates go, the AMFA usually has a debate ONE or TWO WEEKS prior to the representational election. It will be held on the weekend (So all members can attend), In a building that can seat all of us (So all members can attend). It appears the AMFA is in the drivers seat with the 9000+ cards turned in. If the twu cannot wait until then, I guess they can stay home again and shine their coffin.
If you are in our craft/class, I will be more than happy to share my "Kool-Aid" with you and take you to recieve your AMFA info. It will be like a parent taking their kid to the first day of school. Maybe little johnny can go to. Afterwards maybe you can post something that will truly educate someone on the AMFA.
Keep the Faith............VOTE AMFA!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only mentality in question is that of those who still believe in the twu AFTER they ruined our profession.Checking it Out said:You know, for someone who preaches " we all should be in one union " it's obvious, Delle is a hypocrite! I don't understand how anyone could follow this Individual! You have to wonder the mentality of those who do?
No I mean an elected by the members President, unlike Sonnt Hall or Jim Little.High Speed Steel said:Delle a Union President..? Don't you mean a self appointed, un-elected dictator, and is most likely his own grandpa....!
