Don't feel bad, a lead at US gets a whopping $1.01 an hour over an agent.

And Amt leads only get $1.00/hr more. I know, it's that same, but it's not right.

I do not know that I necessarily have a problem with this. I have worked under some truly awful crew chiefs. One of them could not even speak in coherent sentences. Your time with the company should not be the only deciding factor of obtaining a crew chief position. Some people are either incompetent or just not leader material. Placing an incompetent person in charge just because they have time is a busted system. I understand people’s fears about management hand picking their crew chiefs. At the end of the day however the only thing a supervisor or manager cares about is if the plane is on schedule or not.
