Collision Course To War

I'm sure that if Sen. B. Hussein Obama becomes US President he'll meet (without pre-conditions) with the leaders of Iran, N. Korea, and Syria and will use his great oratory skills to presuade the leaders of those countries to change into model world citezens

What is wrong with talking to your enemy? Israel and Egypt were sworn enemies but they sat down and talked. They have been at peace for a few years now. Israel and Syria are sworn enemies yet they will also sit down and talk. What is the absolute worst that could happen, the talks would fail? Given the historical success rate of War and given the cost (both monetary and human) I would think that talking would be something to be encouraged.

Why is it when people have no valid argument they resort to name calling or fear mongering. Sen. Obamas middle name was given to him at birth. Why should a name have any bearing on his ability or lack there of to lead a country. Is that the best argument you can come up with?

That is one of the republican talking points. Keep saying his middle name and people will think he is a Muslim. It is amazing how many people do still think he is a Muslim. His opponents will exploit that to no end.

As I recall, Egypt and Syria signed a peace accord with Israel only after Israel kicked their ass during the Six Day War.

Although much has been said about Egypt’s willingness to broker a peace agreement between Israel and Palestine, it remains as fact that Egypt has been unwilling to broker a deal with the Palestinians to allow them to cross over the Egyptian border and use the Rafah crossing to bypass Israel.

Even if Obama agrees to meet with the leaders of Iran, what issues or concerns outside those contained in UN Resolution 1747 will he raise?

Iran continues to reject UN Resolution 1747 and recently announced that they have increased their uranium enrichment and reprocessing activities. Iran states that they are not developing nuclear weapons but will not let the IAEA inspectors verify their claim. Even though Iran states they will use nuclear power in “peacefulâ€￾ applications only, they have made no effort to apply nuclear power in the generation of electricity. Iran announced yesterday that Iranians should expect rolling electrical blackouts because they can’t meet the demand placed on their hydro-electric generation stations.

Iran’s peaceful application for nuclear power can be defined in three easy steps,

1) Develop and produce nuclear weapons.

2) Nuke Israel

3) Peace

The Six-Days war was fought in 1967. It was followed by the 1973 Yom Kippur War which Israel won in three weeks after suffering initial setback and was able to win only due to massive American airlift of military equipment.

Direct negotiations between Israel and Egypt commenced in 1977 and a peace treaty between the two nations was signed in Washington, D.C., on March 26, 1979.

Israel and Syria never signed a peace accord, only a cease fire agreement.

You have not said anything about why talking to Iran or any other nation is dangerous or not advisable. War has not worked out well. Korea and Viet Nam were failures. Iraq is well on its way to being a failure. Then there is the fact that as much as I fear the idea of Iran having nukes, they are a sovereign nation. Invading/bombing them will open up a Pandora's box that I am not in favor of. We have nukes and they are on their way to getting nukes to join the club along with other nations. We support heinous dictators and we wonder why it comes back to bite us in the ass?

You’re right, I didn’t say anything about why talking to Iran or any other nation is dangerous or not advisable. The White House has been talking to Iran for over a decade.

The question remains; what issues or concerns outside those contained in UN Resolution 1747 will Obama discussed? What more is there to discuss?

Nobody has an issue with Iran developing nuclear power for peaceful purposes. Iran has repeatedly threatened Israel and challenged their sovereignty and their right to exist. Israel is very aware to what Iran will do should they be allowed to develop and produce nuclear weapons. France, Germany and The Untied Kingdom share the same grave concerns as Israel and the US.

Pandora’s Box will be opened regardless of whether Iran attacks Israel or Israel attacks Iran. The greatest repercussions will come to Iran if there is a mushroom cloud over Israel. Israel wants to eliminate Iran’s ability to develop and produce nuclear weapons by using conventional warfare. Iran wants to destroy Israel with nuclear weapons. If war between the two has to happen, which one would you prefer?

FrugalFlyerv2.0,

Ever hear of the old Johnny Cash song................"A Boy named Sue"

I ask this because you "seem" to have an INTEREST in Barack Obama's middle name.

Yes his full name ....is what it is, however MOST(90+ %) of the regular poster here refer to the Illinois Senator as OBAMA,.........or(second choice) Barack Obama,...........or (third Choice)...Barack.

Hmmm............................... !!!
NHBB,

No, Johnny Cash is sort of "before my time" if you will.

B. Hussein Obama is his full name. It is what it is.

It's a part of him, just like his white grandmother.

Besides, what's the big deal? Shouldn't he be proud of his heritage?

Why is it that when it comes to Sen. B. Hussein Obama one can't:
1) mention his full name?
2) make fun of his big monkey ears?
3) criticize my belle Michelle for her anti-American sentiments?
4) question his association with domestic terrorists?
5) question his past attendance at an islamic madrasa?
6) question his association with known / convicted mobsters?
7) question his lack of legislative experience? (I dare you to name 1 piece of legislation that he has written in either IL or US Senate)
8) question his lack of knowledge about foreign policy?
9) question his lack of executive experience?
10) question his association with racists?
11) point out his foreign endorsements (H. Chaves, Hamas, D. Ortega)
12) question the staged (choreographed) faintings of supporters during speeches?
13) question his Marxist economic theory (what's wrong with profits?)
14) question how he is going to pay for all his socialist government entitlement programs (hmmm, think of the DMV when discussing government health care)
15) question his knowledge about foreign relations (i.e. does he even know how many benefits NAFTA has brought to millions of Americans)

You see, I could go on and on.

I'm somebody who came to North America from a former orthodox Marxist-Socialist country. And people will laugh when I tell them that what Sen. B. Hussein Obama is talking pure Marxist-Lenninist-Socialist bull crap, which I hate with all my heart and all my soul. So even though John McLame may not be a good candidate, I am doing everything in my power to make sure the left - wing ideology scum does not infect this great country.

Don't let liberals McGovern the country!

1. Aside from the fact that it is irrelevant?
2. see #1
3. I guess it's open to interpretation but I do not believe that was the intent. Knock your self out trying to use that as an argument though.
4. I have not heard that one yet. Can you explain?
5. Guilt by association? How about W/McCain associating with the likes of Roberts/Fallwell and others?
6. Did he know them before they were convicted?
7. Governors d not sponsor or write bills yet several of them have managed to be POTUS. How does that have any bearing on their ability to lead?
8. You differ with his opinion does not mean that he has no experience. Again, Governors have no experience with foreign affairs yet several have become POTUS.
9. How does on get experience being POTUS with out being POTUS?
10. I guess being associated with homophobs is more acceptable than bigots.
11. Who cares. I am sure Iran and Nicaragua supported Reagan, what difference does that make?
12. Like please.
13. Oy Vey.
14. same way the republicans have been paying for their BS .. OH wait, they have not been paying for it.
15. McCain did not realize that we have more troops in Iraq tan before the surge and Iraq is his platform. He has openly admitted that he has no economic experience (duh... he is a republican after all).

We have had 8 years of the right wing idealogical scum ... time to switch sides for a few years.

4. I have not heard that one yet. Can you explain?
He actively sought the support (approval / endorsement) of William (Bill) Ayers - of the weather underground group when he was running for IL state senate, US senate and Dem nomination.
Clearly, a huge lack of judgement. Unless he shares the same views?

5. Guilt by association? How about W/McCain associating with the likes of Roberts/Fallwell and others?
IMHO that Rev. Wright and his ilk are more harmful than Rev. Fartwell.

6. Did he know them before they were convicted?
Yes.
(Tony Rezko for example).

7. Governors d not sponsor or write bills yet several of them have managed to be POTUS. How does that have any bearing on their ability to lead?
Governor = executive (at the state leve) experience.

8. You differ with his opinion does not mean that he has no experience. Again, Governors have no experience with foreign affairs yet several have become POTUS.
I'd argue that they somehat do. It isn't uncommon for governors to go on foreign trade missions, etc. Certainly not the same level as POTUS, but it is 'experience' that the former junior state senator from IL and the junior US senator for IL lacks.

9. How does on get experience being POTUS with out being POTUS?
See #7 and #8 - which can prepare you for POTUS. I'm not saying that being state governor is a must, but it certainly helps.

10. I guess being associated with homophobs is more acceptable than bigots.
Neither should be acceptable.

15. McCain ... ... ... He has openly admitted that he has no economic experience (duh... he is a republican after all).
Listening to his speeches I conclude that B. Hussein Obama has no clue as how the economy/free market works either.

Hussein Obama is a street organizer for ACORN.

Leftist's in their zeal to be done with 'W' will side with anything......and pay dearly down the road......

HC is marxist too.

All Big'O's agenda is socialist driven.......

Its about change.....yeah....Hitler once said he was going too change Europe...he was right.
