Cathay Pacific (Hong Kong): Cathay Pacific Airways today announced its planned launch of a three-times-weekly service to Moscow, and onwards to Manchester, is to be postponed.

Cathay Pacific announced in December 2005 that, subject to final government approval, flights would commence on 27 March 2006. Preparations for a new service typically need to be completed well in advance of the launch date. Unfortunately, we continue to await the completion of regulatory formalities regarding Manchester, which is taking longer than originally anticipated, so the airline has made the decision now to postpone. We are continuing to work hard with our partners to resolve these issues. Cathay Pacific hopes to launch the service later in the year.

Cathay Pacific commenced a codeshare service from Hong Kong to Moscow, operated by Aeroflot – Russian Airlines, on 2 June 2004. The planned Cathay Pacific-operated service to Moscow and Manchester is designed to be a codeshare service with our partner Aeroflot as well.
