Buyout: Private equity group offers $42+/share

Hopefully my wish of Icahn buying AA will come true sooner than I expected.
It's not Icahn you bitter ba$tard, looks like BA which could strengthen AA. However, if anything negative does happen at AA, the 4,000 or so twa people that remain would be the first to go along with your virtually free AA retirement health benefits which are subsidized by my concessions. I'll ask once again; did you call AA and tell them to cancel your insurance and passes?

hmmm......BA can acquire AMR but Virgin America can't get off the ground. Pun intended.

What am I missing?

Both are worthless to me..,I just want the AA people to suffer like the TWA peolpe did

twaokc,

(THIS will REALLY "frost your cookies")

As aafsc.."TRIED" to explain to you,(this potential deal would only HELP AA), AA has a UNBELIEVABLE..MAGIC horseshoe up It's A$$ !!

I've seen it Many many times.

AA could FALL into a bucket of ####, and emerge "with a new suit on" !!

So................"EAT YOUR HEART OUT"..A$$ HOLE

ch53D,
I'm a bit "perplexed"

If AA is bought by someone else, it WOULD be fair to ASSUME that(in the USA), that the AA employees would outnumber everyone else, correct ?

Therefore, It's futher safe to assume, that in representational "struggles", that a lot of things would (in the USA) stay the same,..Correct ??

Always remember,..."there IS strenght in numbers" !!

(Now conversely, if the USELESS twu was to DISAPPEAR, well............................., lets keep all fingers crossed) !!!

My point is lets stops screwing each other (the workers). AA employees at the time we bought (or any other word you want to use) only worried about ME. We have all paid are dues to this industry in many different ways. We all chose the company we went to work for, but as history continues to repeat itself AA will be on the chopping block before we know it. Our history of the ME airline will in fact haunt us.

I have no clue how it will work out between two different airlines between two different countries. But I can tell this the company union (TWU/AA) will use it in there advantage as they did with TWA/AA.

The sources spoke after a report in BusinessWeek magazine saying AMR may be a buyout target of a group including Goldman and British Airways. Both BA and Goldman declined to comment.

If you guys don't want to be bought out, you are going to have to give billions more in concessions!

AA to become a domestic airline.
BA will fly the International at lower labor costs?

Just when youy think you can take a breath.

Unlikely the US government will allow a foreign carrier with 25% or less control over a US carrier to take slots from the US and fly them under there name and control. Just saying MIA-GRU, JFK-CDG, ORD-PVG will still be with AA crews and planes.

Goldman Sachs downgraded shares of American Airlines' parent AMR Corp. from buy to neutral, citing a high valuation. The stock has been trading near its 52-week high of $41. AMR shares were down about 1% to $38.13 in midday trading on the New York Stock Exchange. They downgrade the stock, then are rumored to be in a buyout of that company. Possible conflict of interest.

I agree. I would be more worried with Goldman Sachs in control than BA...

Being that angry is not healthy.

Just admit it, TWA was a dying airline. Don Carty in his infinite wisdom made the mistake of buying it.
