Bush Backs Off Opposition To Pension Relief

Ew, look at that photo... looks like our unelected president could use some Crest Whitestrips in his stocking this Xmas!

:eek: :D

Lets see, under Bill 23,000,000 jobs created.

Under W2 over 3,000,000 lost most since Herber Hoover, another repub who crashed the economy.

say what you wish my friend...but you keep avoiding the truth that the unemployment rate is still at 5.6% give or take.and the rate was acceptable to the dems under clinton and now it is not under bush...so tell me now,how do you discount the truth?
clinton could have created 500 million jobs...but the reality is and still is there is a rate of 5.6% unemployed now and when clinton was president...so tell me what has changed mr.hotshot?
23 million jobs is real impressive ...but for some reason,we have the same rate of unemployment...
so bush loses 3 million and now with 20 million employed we have the same rate??duh...

officially unemployed persons consist solely of those who are registered at state unemployment centers as actively seeking for work. If you have been unemployed for so long that you no longer collect unemployment insurance, you are no longer counted. Thats the difference. It should actually be called the "unemployed and collecting unemployment rate".

Also, while your statement "...but the reality is and still is there is a rate of 5.6% unemployed now and when clinton was president" Is accurate. It doesnt tell the whole story.
Clinton Inherited an unemployment rate of 7.5%! from Bush Sr.

1993 = 6.9
1994 = 6.1
1995 = 5.6
1996 = 5.4
1997 = 4.9
1998 = 4.5
1999 = 4.2
2000 = 4.0

We can see that in Bush jr. Inherited a rate of %4.0!
now bushes numbers:

2001 4.8%
2002 5.8
2003 5.9 (may not be correct)
2004 5.6

To be Fair to GW:
Bush was dealt a ressesion at the beginning of his term, and 911 had a huge impact also.
The employment number do appear to have at least stabilized, and begun to turn around, but this is happening at an historically slow pace.

It seems the theme of this election will be:
"Its the jobs stupid" vs. Terror
