Just heard Branson is bringing his own pilots that will work for pennies. What now? Should we work for less than them? Ideas?

Why all the anger? Man, you guys must be very hostile to anyone with any information that is threatening. I dont like it either but it is for everyone. If one attacks the LCC's then the others are just dust in the wind. If I were going to try to make money and get rid of competition I would undercut everyone. Does that not sound familiar? If I were going to try to get rid of competition I would not just build another major. I would build an airline that had employees that would be willing to work for much less and thus get rid of all competition. I am just guessing but I bet I could find someone willing to do your job for half of what you are making and love it. China/India/Afgans Or maybe even RJ commuter pilots, oh, there are none of those.
Go ahead and believe that Branson cannot make it happen. PERM Resident or US Citizen. Have you not ever worked with someone from another country in the US? I have! He said it was as easy as pie. Branson has the money to do it and ARNOLD can help him.

I am not suprised this is coming up now!! A few years ago I thought someone would open a domicile in the us have the company be a start-up properly US owned airline. Bring in outside (outsourced) Emberly Riddle graduates to crew an airline. Buy a hotel, convert it to a dorm and cycle the crews in and out say on 3month on 1month of cycles.... Not unlike is done in the middle east right now with ex-pat crews. It is perfect, low cost crews, spending what they do earn at the company store, and a ready supply of reserves at the hotel you own!!!!

Thank you for your post BBD. At least someone has the forsight to see what is about to happen. Greed my good men! Simple Greed! The same thing that started SWA/JB/AW/ATA and many many more. "Oh it could never happen". Just keep telling your self that and you will see every US pilot in the unemployment line.
First hand knowledge....I asked a commuter pilot if his company were to get many more jets and he could upgrade to Capt. if he would? He looked at me with shock. Definately. I asked if the majors were disappearing if he would continue to watch his brothers at the majors fall and fly their routes. I quote, " I have to eat." How much pay cut would he be willing to take? He said he would do his Capt.'s job for half his pay. Gentlemen this is a large commuter but his Capt. was not making huge dollars. Now, how much less would an Indian/Chinese/Afgan work for? You do the math. 🙁

Don't be fooled...they'll work there for half of what the little 3 pay. What goes around, comes around. Now the LCC' s are gonna cry. Guess you won't get much sympathy from anyone else though, you guys thought it was okay when you did it, so now it's your turn! They don't have to be foreign you know....just hungry. Pilots are born, not made.....they'll fly even if it means they don't make much....WATCH EM!
