Boy! What A Union

If during that 5 years, you have taken a leave or been furloughed your "pay"seniority would be adjusted to relect that

But, if I remember correctly anyone hired in the first 3 months of 1999, was adjusted to April 1999, since that is when the 1st contract took effect, so the 4/99 pay seniority would be correct.

This was done because in the PPG scale, raises were done in 6 month increments during the first 2 yrs. The Union Contract replaced that with yearly raises at a higher rate.

boy you gotta love this union--the iam. my city was mainline right up until last sept. 15 i completed a 5th yr all but one at my station thought i would have gotten the big money but but of course i never got it. filed a griveance last august and then went mainline express and with a different "union" representative, i still havent hear anything to date. yet the rep even left a message with several other higher up union reps. has anyone else have this problem? all i got to say i sure am not happy that i havent heard one darn thing and having to pay the excessive union fee of 28 dollars a month. boy what a union this is!
Yes, the IAM sucks. They sold us all out with the givebacks and second vote. They are spineless and gutless. After they boned us mechs, then they raised the dues for all that fine representing they did.

The IAM needs to go and we need a real union. A union that will tell the company "he11 no." One that would risk putting the company out of business rather than negotiate a contract for lower wages and benefits. One that would resort to "all means necessary" to intimidate management, low (unfair) wage carriers, and mercinary maintenance shops that outsource our work. Real union thuggery works, folks. Remember the 1920s? Remember when screwing with a union worker had consequences? Remember when having representation MEANT SOMETHING, rather than just paying dues?! These days, the IAM just takes your dues money and doesn't do anything for you.

Laid off and p1ssed off

SPEAKING OF SPINELESS AND GUTLESS.......
your own union brothers, upon finding out that yes indeed we did reject the first vote,dear...sent barrages of phone calls,e-mails and personal appearances to Davey boy,and the local IAM boys.....this was particularly big in WAA-WAA-WAA PITTSBURGH...THAT FAMOUS TOWN WITH A STRONG UNION HERITAGE
YOUR SPINELESS-GUTLESS UNION BROTHERS ARE THE ONES WHO COWERED IN FEAR WHEN THEY DISCOVERED THEY MIGHT PUT THEIR FAMILIES ON THE STREET...IT IS YOUR SPINLESS UNION BROTHERS WHO SOLD YOU DOWN THE ROAD,NOT YOUR UNION.
quit with the whining..... <_<

Amen & Amen and why Jerry Glass will continue his campaign of no mercy knowing such fear exist among the so-called union brothers.

Like it had been posted, if this were the twenties Jerry Glass would be a non-issue.

ok i was never furloughed however i was downgraded to part time from right after sept. 11 2001 but i was never furloughed. the station manager told me that my pay date was changed from 7-98 to 4-99 and he blames the union he said according to the payroll dept. however i went to a bigger station for one year--1999 to 2000--going inside for a bout a month then back out i can understand that but then when i cam back to my original city, i found out that my pay date was changed as idont understand how.. i was never furloughed. just downgraded to part time before i was re-upgraded this past feburary. i never received anything in writing and i hope to hear something from a union higher rep soon but who knows when
