boy you gotta love this union--the iam. my city was mainline right up until last sept. 15 i completed a 5th yr all but one at my station thought i would have gotten the big money but but of course i never got it. filed a griveance last august and then went mainline express and with a different "union" representative, i still havent hear anything to date. yet the rep even left a message with several other higher up union reps. has anyone else have this problem? all i got to say i sure am not happy that i havent heard one darn thing and having to pay the excessive union fee of 28 dollars a month. boy what a union this is!

You are totally delusional if you actually believe the union, IAM or any other union on the planet can dictate the business plans so you can “have it your wayâ€￾. I strongly suggest you wake up and smell the roses because this will only get worse and not better. The IAM is not your savior. Where did you read in the union by laws you would be provided for the way you choose and until you choose to go elsewhere compliments the IAM, just where is it written? And this is a TOPIC!

I couldn't understand the original post nor Cav's answer... what are you guys saying?
i think pretty much in a nut shell that the "IAM" sucks  at least thats what i get from the original post!

The I.A.M. is a large, self-serving, bureaucracy. If you expect some grease, you’re going to have to squeak loud and alot.

The I.A.M. is fond of saying that "you are the Union". You and your buddies are going to have to repeatedly ask, if not insist, on the help that your deserve. I don't like it, it's just the way the game is played.

what im talking about is that after i had completed my fifth yr (as of june 27th 2003) we were still mainline city with quite a few jets, i should have gotten (from what i understand) the big money because i was told that i should but i never did. i filed grievance but nothing was ever heard. i indeed lost some time howvever the mgmr stold me that my pay date was change to april of 99. and he blames the union for that. I also never ever said the union was my savior nor will i ever. i am also not dillusional may be you are but i dont know and wont say so. and it is not my way it was the way it should have been but of course it aint and the union pretty much dont care for the folks in the mainline express cities that is the reality and i pretty much have given up on the union trying to help because that aint going to happen

Guess there are times when we all need to share a little pain
And ironing out the rough spots
Is the hardest part when memories remain
And it's times like these when we all need to hear the radio
`Cause from the lips of some old singer
We can share the troubles we already know

Turn them on, turn them on
Turn on those sad songs
When all hope is gone
Why don't you tune in and turn them on

They reach into your room
Just feel their gentle touch
When all hope is gone
Sad songs say so much

If someone else is suffering enough to write it down
When every single word makes sense
Then it's easier to have those songs around
The kick inside is in the line that finally gets to you
and it feels so good to hurt so bad
And suffer just enough to sing the blues

Sad songs, they say
Sad songs, they say
Sad songs, they say
Sad songs, they say so much

The only thing I make out of your post is you are crying about something. Can you please try to make some sense and explain what the blip you talking about.

What he's trying to convey (please correct me if I'm wrong, Robbed), is that in US mailine cba
members would reach top of scale after 5 years (this is how it is for the ramp at NW as well; NW CSA's are 10 yrs.). Usually, this jump is quite significant. At some point, he may have taken a leave, which the company deducted from his total time with the company. While he was grieving it, the station he's at was "mainline expressed," meaning his top out is now a whopping 13.01. Thus the frustration.....

at mainline cities we would have reached that point of where we would have had significant pay or the a scale pay and I was in the city that was mainline at the end of my 5th yr however never to see the a scale type of pay and i have asked the union rep once a week just for a simple answer and if possible some back pay both of which i doubt i will ever even see that is what i have bee trying to say all along soorrry about the goffs earlier posts

check your contract and i'm sure your dues rate is twice the hourly wage.....thus 28 bux..... ;) i pay about twice that...so think about it.
