Does someone familiar with things in SFO and OAK know if the attendance control program for agents is being relaxed during the Bay Bridge closure?

My guess is probably not. "Hey it's your choice to live on other side of Bay, you still have to be on time" is what management is likely saying.

I think the Swine Flu epidemic is the only exception to the ACP, on a case by case basis. MGMT hinted that we should get FMLA paperwork for the doctor to sign if an absence from work is to last over 3 days.

Not to be captain obvious, but wouldn't BART be a logical choice for anyone living east of the Bay? A quick look at their website indicates they are running expanded service.

BART doesn't run early of late enough for many airport work shifts. And good luck trying to park at an East Bay Bart station. Someone from SFO told me that when the bridge was closed after the '89 "World Series" quake the company chartered buses for employees living in the East Bay. (Back then BART did not serve SFO)

On the Swine Flu exception, if that is true, word has not reached all manager!

I don't think the passengers are going to care why there's no agent at the airport. It's your responsibility to get to work, on time.

Management most likely will not care about those that rely on public transportation in PHL during the SEPTA strike though I don't know of anything in any contract that states you MUST have a car. Though the R1 to the airport isn't disrupted so the task is getting to the rail line.

Maybe WN will create some OAK-SFO flights to add to there non-rev commuter revenue base
