I don't think anyone will seriously argue that the majority of passengers don't use price as one of the most important criteria. It's that 5% that contribute 15-20% of revenue that has interest in such things as amenities. An airline ignores that 5% at their own peril - for US they represent $1.5-2.0 Billion (with a B) in revenue per year. Without their share of that higher yield revenue US disappears since (like Piney mentioned) US' cost structure depends on getting that revenue.You're beating a dead horse. Those that disagree with you will argue it will all kinds of "supporting evidence." Bottom line is about PRICE!!
