America West top in on-time performance again The Arizona Republic
PHOENIX - America West Airlines ranked first among major airlines in on-time arrivals for the third month in a row, according to a government travel report.
The carrier, which struggled with on-time performance and other service issues last year, had an on-time rate of 76.4 percent in July.
America West was sixth among all 20 airlines surveyed by the Air Travel Consumer Report, but the top five were smaller carriers. Hawaiian topped the survey.
Southwest, the other major carrier in Phoenix, came in right behind America West at 75.7 percent on-time arrivals.
