one of the reporters on DL's earnings call just asked about insurance costs to airlines as a result of accidents so far this year - and this accident wasn't even mentioned.

very sad indeed. hopefully survivors are found.

sounds like bad weather has to be considered as a cause.

so far they say 47 dead  11 injured.   and one report that the plane was an ATR ( not sure what model) was attempting an emergency landing due to heavy winds from a typhoon
