This guy is a nutjob.

He has all ready been found guilty of racial profiling.

I think the ACLU will be all over this one.

I wonder if he made Doug wear the pink underwear?

I think the ACLU and other rights groups will get him for what he is punishing for. I dont think you can force someone to be patriotic. Defacing property might be an option but why put it in the cell? Playing god bless amaerica might be another thing that gets him in trouble.

Depriving people of nutrition I think will fall under cruel and unusual so that probably wont stand either.

I would think any opponent would point out all the money AZ is wasting on lawyers defending tbis idiot and realize he is costing them money. I guess if they want to waste all the money and look like fools to the rest of thr nation ..... have at it.

I think he has been given free reign and has never been told no when he was growing up. He gets told no now and he just ignores it even if he is in violation of the law. Spoils petulant child.

That's why he's been re-elected over, and over, and over.

Sheriff Joe does what all you liberal pansies are afraid to do: treat prisoners like prisoners.

If the government would just start deporting the illegals in his jails, things like this wouldn't be news.

http://www.ice.gov/removal-statistics/

"In FY 2013:

ICE conducted a total of 368,644 removals.

ICE conducted 133,551 removals of individuals apprehended in the interior of the U.S.

82 percent of all interior removals had been previously convicted of a crime.

ICE conducted 235,093 removals of individuals apprehended along our borders while attempting to unlawfully enter the U.S. 1

59 percent of all ICE removals, a total of 216,810, had been previously convicted of a crime.

ICE apprehended and removed 110,115 criminals removed from the interior of the U.S.

ICE removed 106,695 criminals apprehended at the border while attempting to unlawfully enter the U.S.

98 percent of all ICE FY 2013 removals, a total of 360,313, met one or more of ICE's stated civil immigration enforcement priorities. 2

Of the 151,834 removals of individuals without a criminal conviction, 84 percent, or 128,398, were apprehended at the border while attempting to unlawfully enter the U.S. and 95 percent fell within one of ICE's stated immigration enforcement priorities. 3"

That is 1009 per day counting those caught at the border, and 365 per day for those from the interior of the US.

Those numbers are far higher than previous POTUS'.

A key talking point for proponents of amnesty for illegal aliens is that the Obama administration has made historic improvements to border security and immigration enforcement, leading to “record” numbers of deportations that surpass the performance of earlier administrations. In December 2012, John Morton, then-director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), announced that his agency had removed nearly 410,000 illegal aliens that year. Major news outlets, pro-amnesty lawmakers, and other Obama administration allies heralded this apparent milestone as evidence that the border and illegal immigration were now under control.

These statistics also reveal that under the Obama administration, the resources of HSI, which is the division of ICE that is responsible for work site enforcement, combating transnational gangs, overstay enforcement, anti-smuggling and trafficking activities, and busting document and identity theft rings, have been diverted to other activities. As a result HSI now makes only a negligible contribution to immigration enforcement. In 2008, HSI arrests produced 17 percent of ICE-initiated deportations; in 2013 they are projected to produce only four percent of ICE-initiated deportations.

There are more illegals crossing the border now than during the previous administration, mainly because they think there's going to be another amnesty plan. They've also seen the lack of commitment to the border fence, and as mentioned, ICE's role on the border is less than what it used to be.

Then again, having lived in border states for 18 of the last 22 years has tainted my view on things...

We need more like him. I'm glad he doesn't listen to those bleeding heart liberals. The inmates will survive, ("It contains vegetables, protein, and more than 1,000 calories a slice.") and hopefully not want to come back as repeat offenders.

We also need to enforce the laws on the books. Let's use Ron White's solution. "We have the death penalty and we use it"

For example:

http://www.dallasnews.com/news/state/headlines/20140122-court-won-t-stop-texas-execution-of-mexican-national.ece

HUNTSVILLE — A Mexican national was executed Wednesday night in Texas for killing a Houston police officer, despite pleas and diplomatic pressure from the Mexican government and the U.S. State Department to halt the punishment.
Edgar Tamayo, 46, received a lethal injection for the January 1994 fatal shooting of Officer Guy Gaddis, 24.
