A new tool for the new year. The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) has launched a new and improved online newsroom. The user-friendly site offers journalists general aviation (GA) information at a glance. The address is http://www.aopa.org/newsroom. (Because of the complete redesign, anyone who had registered for the old newsroom will need to re-register. Access to members-only content is unaffected by re-registration.)
AOPA recognizes that many reporters assigned to cover a story about small planes are scrambling to learn as much as possible even as they head out to cover the story. So the new AOPA Online Newsroom provides the answers to questions that reporters most frequently ask. There is a quick reference "On Deadline" section that includes basic information for covering accidents and security issues as well as a direct link to the FAA aircraft registry, and information on AOPA's new television studio and uplink facility.
