AMR expect loss

How you free yourself from the TWU is your problem to fix. You seem to have given up on the process after the last vote. Quitters will never win.

Then again, if management managed to break your will, then they deserve every cent of those bonuses. Keeping you down more than pays for the pup as well as their over-inflated salaries.

It's always someone elses fault with you. Corrupt government. Paid-off union officials. Greedy management. Bootlicking pro-company operatives.

Nothing will ever change until y'all stop playing the victim and start to re-take control of your future.

You are incorrect again.

I am changing many things, but mostly those that directly effect myself and/or my family, and the numerous problems that created all the vicitms will soon be left behind in my life. Until then, I will not shy away from telling the truth and those management defenders that use name calling and innuendo will not deter me. Oh trust me, my will is NOT broken at all, just re-directed to a fair game that involves folks with some ethics instead corrupt, bought-off, greedy management bootlickers.

My future is now my future, not a future concerning a group that would cross a picket line in heartbeat to lick the boot of ignorant management personel that will stop at nothing to have things their way. Now things will be MY way.

Call me all the names you want Eric, you are afterall one of them.

By the way, there never was a "last vote" the US Government denied us the right to vote. Had there been a vote we would then know the will of the workers. You are correct in one thing, we are indeed victims in more way than one. I even remember you sharing a very dear and personal story about how the inconsiderate and insensitive jerks victimized you and your family also. <_<

You and your Pals tell us to rid ourselves of the TWU, but have no ideas on how to overcome verifiable obstacles and instead choose to call us quitters when presented with the truth about what has already happened.

QUIT this industry is exactly what we should all do and leave the safety to the cheapest bidder. Do look for me on any aircraft. And meanwhile I get back a little everyday in my own way.

So, if mechanics decide to make sure they follow the book to the letter, then consider that taking control of our future...Do you remember the "siege" at JFK a few years back, Eric?

If we did that on a daily basis causing the inconvenience for literally thousands of customers, would that acceptable to all parties? Would that be considered a fair argument for our worth?

After all, anytime one of AA's invaluable executives threatens to leave, AA somehow finds the means with which to pay him/her.

I am not advocating any job action, but when your union and your company are both against you, it doesn't leave the workers with much choice.

Oh come on Hopeful and Informer! We all know the NMB is an unbiased government agency.

Princess you need to go count some stock somewhere in the the bowels of AFW..........your knowledge of anything to do with labor is miniscule.............the blame game of the NMB started with the lads at NWA who could not rub 2 nickles together to get a dime...........whom you aligned yourself with along with others...........

Regarding those that defend AMR's management bonuses, and the fact that they are "contractual" and have been around for years, and that we "need to move on"...... I ask you two questions:

1. Would SWA management take a similar bonus if/when faced with tough times?

2. What is your opinion of CAL's management, who have deferred their "contractual" bonuses for two years in a row?

Thanks.

Just curious....How much are the upcoming PUP payments?

Depends on how AMR performs 1/03/06 to 12/31/08 relative to the specified peers - eolesen posted a chart at:

IIRC, there are five or so comparable companies in the peer group, some of which will automatically underperform ARM due to bankruptcy. Their shareholders lost their entire investment when their stock was canceled.

As I view the PSP payouts, they've served as able proxies for a reward from the stockholders for not filing Ch 11 - and thus, for not wiping out the stockholders. Many of you, on the other hand, view them as unconscionable bonuses that are completely undeserved because the company has showed net losses.

Given that the commercial airline business rarely shows consistent profits (with one notable exception), only a moron would tie their variable compensation component to a strict requirement that the company report a net profit.

It's entirely possible that AMR might someday report a net profit of a billion dollars (or 2 or 3 billion) yet the PSP payouts would be negligible if AMR stock performs in last place among the peer group. As in, DL/NW outperforms, UA outperforms, CO outperforms, etc. In short, the PSP rewards management when stockholders are happy.

I, on the other hand, never gave a rat's ass what executives received with respect to their compensation. It is only since we were force fed concessions which took 40 years to gain through the negotiating process that I take issue with it..

The way I see it,, is we bear the pain, while only upper management shares the gain.

And before you remind us all that even though the exec PUPs are contractual and a mere pittance compared to other execs,,,,,,Let me remind you of something......NO MATTER HOW LARGE OR SMALL THEIR REWARDS ARE,,,,,,,THEY ARE STILL RECEIVING THEM, REGARDLESS OF ECONOMIC CONDITIONS.

Oh NO! I've been outed again! Wow, Observer you sure have sharp investigation skills. Who would have ever known! Yeah, how dare those NWA mechanics get a huge raise in 2001 that gave aircraft mechanics a boost almost everywhere. How dare those same NWA mechanics go on strike to protect what they had fought so hard for! They should have rolled over like the TWU and gave up the farm, cow, and the tractor.

I would rather be aligned with a group that a least tried to fight back, then worship the EVIL TWU International.

Hey Judy this person should be ashamed of themselves for talking to you like that. I guess his mother didn't teach him how to to talk to a lady, but what can you expect from one of the bubba club. Maybe he could apologize to you with his real name attached. After second thought, scratch that because it would take a back bone to that.

Loss Prediction: $175 million, excluding special items.

I was way off. $360 million loss before special items. That's four million a day. Ouch. Of course, fuel was up $12 million more per day than in the third quarter of 2007.
