Already US Healthcare Blows

Stormchaser:

My prayers are with you and your wife during these difficult times. I know that all you are looking for is a ray of hope -- a reason to continue -- and it seems like all your get is negative -- "No" "Can't do that" etc... Try not to let the nay-sayers get you down. If that's one thing I've learned in my short years is that "no" is never the only answer -- unless I am willing to accept it.

Like many other posters have suggested, be sure to follow-up with the people at US Airways that might be able to help you. While by no means is your situation unique, it is out of the ordinary. I know, you're already fighting a difficult battle and you don't want to take on another one. Emotions are high and energy is low. Think of this change in healthcare plans as a "tumor" itself; you will find the strength to fight it and to treat it in the best possible manner. Also, as another alternative, you may even want to talk to the Doctor(s). Maybe they can work something out. Maybe they can sign up to UHC? Maybe they can accept whatever UHC will cover "out of network" and let you slide on the balance owed them or give you a discount, or something like that... Doctors are human, too, and they just might surprise you.

Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife and I wish you strength to find the answers you need.

 We haven't changed over from Blue Cross/Blue Sheild and already I have found US Healthcare sucks. My wife has cancer and is being treated by some of the best cancer doctors in the US if not the world and none of them are in the US Healthcare system.

sky high states: What type of cancer? What treatment has her had? There's limited treatment in the US. Have you tried alternative treatments outside the US? I've had two family members succumb to cancer. One treated conventionally, one treated holistically.
It's emotionally draining to battle let alone worry about medical bills.
Dont always believe the CA125 blood count. My Mother's came back zero activity, yet, she had a grapefruit size tumor when exploratory surgery was performed as a precaution.

Sending you prayers and healing thoughts.

only stating opinons.

Just curious...Does anyone know the medical benefits that our lovely managment has? Are they UHC aswell? (my guess is no)

USAirways designs their own "summary discription plan" and they are self insured. They use Insurance companies as Administrators of "THIER" plan. Folks need to know that if USAirways can Walmart the health care, it will squeeze every dime it can. Company doesn't care about employee illness or providing reasonable health care for their employees to recover from illness or disease. They'd rather look to fire you if they can.

This is one of the reasons I won't fly USAirways, or give them my business if I have a choice on who to fly.
This year I've flown USA3000 3 times, NW, and CO. And my closest friends and family won't fly them either.

I don't WalMart shop and I won't fly USAirways unless I am stuck some where because of a cancellation and then use my passes. I won't finance or support a company who treats employees the way USAirways continues to do.
You won't Wal-Mart shop, but you will fly USA3000...They are a SWA wannabee, catch a clue
