Teamsters have indicated they will not even let members vote on concessions demanded by management. BYE BYE

Ben,

Why is that? Is what management offered so stinky it doesn't stand a chance of acceptance? Have you been shown what the company asked? Are they still "negotiating"?

I was unaware US had the Teamsters on the property. Can you be locked out or PEB'ed?

check your facts sir.. give details please...

Teamsters represents the mechanics of Allegheny, one of the three wholly owned regionals. The Allegheny pilots (ALPA) and flight attendants (AFA) already have ratified concessionary contracts in place.

As with the other two wholly owned carriers, ALG been told that all of our union represented labor groups must reach an accord with management before we can emerge from bankruptcy. So we are in the same boat as mainline waiting for all labor groups to join in the sacrifice before any of us can move forward.

The Teamsters do represent the mechanics, stock clerks and ops agents at Allegheny. They are still negotiating. So far the mechanics have turned down the first round of concessions by 97%. The big reason is most of the mechanics only make between $12 and $14 an hour. Management stated that no one making less than $30,000 a year would be asked to take a pay cut. So far the nonunion employees that make less than $30,000 have not taken a cut. Managment is asking for an across the board cut from the mechanics not matter what they make and they want it retroactive to september 1st. Of course they would not make the raise retroactive when the contract was signed. They also want to eliminate the 2% contribution that they make to their 401k, they want to eliminate Easter and Labor day holidays. That all in itsself isn't to bad but they refuse to add any kind of guarantee. So reverting to the prior contract if the company is sold. So profit sharing, nothing. The mechanics wouldlike the same treatment as has been giving the pilots and the other unions at mainline. It's amazing how we are considered second rate mechanics until one of the "jets" breaks and then all the sudden we're good enough to fix them. Of course we aren't paid nearly what a mechanic at mainline would be paid.

So far the company has been unwilling to show the books to any union on the property. They state their are no books. That makes you wonder how the w/o's can be considered seperate in bk court.

I hope the mechanics can do better than what the pilots got!! It's amazing (again) to hear how Allegheny Airlines Inc. can not have books. This would be a new not to mention illegal thing. If you are incorperated you must have books less the feds from the IRS do a very extensive rectal exam. Just more lies from those in high places.

I just got back from being off for christmas, and I found a letter in my mailbox from managment that says if i dont accept the new proposed concessions, there gonna start deducting $705 a month for insurance.

Thats up from around $90 that it is now.

With the company charging that for insurance, many employees are not gonna be able to put food on the table.

Is that for you or your whole family? Either way that is B.S.! Thats a house payment in most parts of the country.

Send the spouse off to a job at Walmart or similar with bennies and tell the company to bite you!!
