All Delta flights grounded due to computer outage

On Friday, Delta disclosed that the outage cost it about $100 million and increased its August cancellation rate to 2% from 0.2% in August, 2015:

$100 million is approximately what it's paying for a new A330ceo. $100 million would buy a lot of IT services and backup equipment. Perhaps DL will see the wisdom of investment in its IT now.

We should be so lucky!
There's been no shortage of investment in "the brand." Hopefully, this shows the danger in deflecting less glamorous things like IT infrastructure, ground equipment, etc.
