Is AirTran pulling out of Myrtle Beach? Looking at their website, you can no longer purchase tickets for Myrtle Beach beyond September 6th. Anyone know what is going on here?

Wouldn't be the first time, and they have competition ATL-MYR from both Hooters Air and DL, don't they? MYR was served in the past with a mix of 717's and CRJ's. When FL announced the end of the JetConnect agreement, I thought they said that all JetConnect flights would be served by 717's. No service reductions were mentioned.

It might just be that they are not taking reservations past that date. Some airlines will not have their flights available for sale for more than a 4 or 5 month span. I know that you cant get SWA for Sept right now either. Just my thoughts.......

Weatherman weatherman....

Did you look at other days? Looks like they might be going to less than daily service. I went to the website, plugged in Monday 10/25. Response came back that there were no seats on that day, but did offer me the first day that seats were avaialble, which was Friday 10/29. Maybe weekend only service rather than close the station altogether?

I am not sure what is going on with their website. They are showing no flights from to Myrtle Beach. However, they do have flights from Myrtle Beach. Looks like it is just a computer glitch.

Although it may be a computer glitch they may IMHO make MYR seasonal service since they dumped the RJ's. MYR in the winter time has very light loads :)

Not sure if someone at AirTran reads these boards, but now all flights in both directions are zeroed out. Appears that AirTran is pulling out of Myrtle Beach or at least making it a seasonal destination, as someone suggested earlier.
