Bankruptcy case results in $57 million in bills

TONY MECIA

US Airways' bankruptcy case was a boon for lawyers and consultants, who stand to collect roughly $57 million from the airline.

That's an average of about $1 million a week for their work on the company's yearlong court case, which ended last month when the airline merged with America West.

Charlotte Observer

$50 million was AFA's pension liability along with IAM.

Instead of paying the liability owed, managmnet paid the lawyers all the money to motion to dump the pensions.

You never had a Defined Benefit Plan and it took a Bankruptcy Judge to terminate our pension and have it taken over by the PBGC, guess you don't understand that and the pension is still paying benefits to the retirees and the future retirees who participated in the plan will be getting paid benefits also.

Can you say the same?

Can you Say the same?? IAM did it not the BK judge look at your contract. It doesn't say the judge deleted it YOU (7) and the IAM did.

You dont remember do you we have a stronger benefit package overall. 401k, med, life ins., we have been down that road before.
